let them drink in a safe environment? a beer party on sportsman road is a safe environment? tell me something, "post it note", how did all these underage drinkers get to the site? oh, let me guess. their parents drove them up and as they were dropping them off, kissed them on the forehead and said, "have a nice time. be sure not to drink too much and if you do please don't puke and urinate all over the neighbors lawn". "we'll be back to pick your drunken ahasses up no later than 3:00AM". "get slamed safely, now. it's good practice for when you go to college. love you"!

you, "post it note", are a simpleton! my money says the kids drove to the site themselves. you tell me how safe that is. safe environment my ahass!

prosecute the so called "adults" to the fullest extent possible. they should be thankful the police showed up before the kids got too drunk to navigate 4000 pounds of steel along the public way. had there been a fatal accident as a result of their negligence there would have been hell to pay!

The kids would have partied regardless - they didn't need the 'approval' of any adults. It was a bad judgement call on these adults heads - now comes the consequences

How dare you besmerch the good name of "Duff Man" you slack jawed berry picker? Didn't you ever drink when you were a kid? Are you so feeble minded that you think kids don't celebrate their graduation? And as for calling me a loser you can blow it out your arse.

Isn't fierro a city employee at city hall...hope these students and athletes that were caught can't play sports as according to MIAA rules. But that won't happen they can always play even when caught in school with vodka. After all it was the Hoosac/Drury game. The MIAA should be looking closely at the Drury athletics program and their policies or lack of following the MIAA rules for alcohol, drugs, and grades. You are not doing these kids any good by not following the rules and letting them play after getting in trouble. You are only empowering them to do it again.

What is it going to take for everyone in this area to wake up. The drinking age is 21 for a reason, calling concerned adults names won't change the facts. It is against the law to provide alcohol to minors no matter where it is. We have to join as one to avoid this generation from drinking and taking drugs .

Hey, if anyone thinks that only the Drury kids are partying they are foolish. They do it in all communities and no matter where it happens it's wrong. If all the adults can provide for their kids is a drunkfest, it says a lot about their parenting and lack of ability to love in a positive way. Too many things can go wrong and when it does there is this big connection with consciousness of loss afterwards. It's too late then.

Don't make me laugh. Stamford has several clan type families who could only be clled "Vermonts Best Bums" and as far as Billsville goes there are plenty of bottom feeders there also.

I'm sorry, but I don't condone any underage activity AT ALL!. If you want to drive, turn 16, if you want to smoke, turn 18, if you want to drink, turn 21. YES, I was a teenager, and I did drink at parties, I know it will be done. And I had siblings and friends' parents who helped us accomplish this. But....thank GOD I also had a mother who taught me right from wrong, and told me as I stated above; if you want to do this, you need to turn that. I used to get so mad, she was sooo 'uncool'! The day I became a mother...I knew exactly where she was coming from. I thanked her then, and I thank her now, for loving me and protecting me, and knowing someday I would understand.

I have a child that graduated this year and her party is coming up soon. Now I'm sure she won't have 50+ kids show up, because it's not 'that' kind of party. The ones that will appear, are going to be her real friends. Ones that will spend the day hanging out, swimming, eating, laughing and knowing they will not be served alcohol. Now her FORMER classmates won't look at me as the cool mom, and won't remember her as the one who had the AWESOME bash. But let me ask you; Bonnie Lefebvre, 42, James Oliver, 53, David Fierro, 45, and Jeffrey Burdick, 41, how cool do you feel now?? Did ya give your minor child the AWESOME party you planned? I would like to congratulate you on one thing...getting busted before it got out of control (and know matter what you think, you cannot control 50 teenagers consuming alcohol) and avoided a tragedy. It outrages me when people say, if there gonna do it anyway, I'd rather them do it here. To you I say, really? You are going to decide that tonight you'll be parent to my child? Did you call all the parents of these kids and state that you are going to BREAK THE LAW, but don't worry because we will babysit your underage drinking child? Did you stop to think at all??? You have gained public shame (I hope) to seek one night of teenage glorification.

So when my kid has her party, and friends are invited to stay the night. It will be done in good conscience on my part. And I can say yes to their parents, your child WILL be in good hands, and you can sleep knowing there will be no dreadfull 3AM call.
