This kind of thing is ridiculous! Maybe we should talk to our representatives and get some of these STUPID laws changed. But how would our State make any money if they didn't go around stalking our kids! Ever been to the court in Bennington and seen the MASS majority of underage drinking violations, which leads to probation which then leads them into even more court time! MONEY MONEY that is what it is all about! Even though they claim it is for the good of the kids...Kids will be kids!

Wasn't there a similar party busted last year in Stamford?

You think they might be looking again?

Why the reprint of the same story? Lack of news or just a correction on the spelling of the skoool naim?

Nail the kids and the Parents , Hard, and we wont have to waste good taxpayer dollars on this. What? Are we just supposed to look the other way? Put them all in one freakin cell and let them be uncomfortable. Maybe if we didn't just pooh pooh everything we might get a behavior change. Stop making excuses. Names; I want names printed!!!

Education and raising the fines and jail times as a deterrent is about all you can do! Criminals will always be criminals and there is very little you can do about that!

Didn't their Dad teach them to go far enough into the woods that the lazy cops won't go looking for them?

First of all the laws are changed dramatically from what they used to be so "nailing, HARD" is not going to be any sort of solution. Kids will be kids and no matter what law you have in place that is not going to change. Let's face reality here and say how many people do you know from high school/college that partied that are now successful adults...I can say I know MANY more successful people from high school than not! And we never got arrested for underage drinking. GEEZE LOUISE!

Do you really think that underage drinking should be allowed? Jen, you can't believe that it is okay. If your child went to a party that you knew the parents were going to be chaperoning, and then found out that the parents were supplying the booze, how can you think that is okay? Then the kids are driving down a state highway at 55 miles an hour or faster. How safe is that? At night! This was dangerous! not just to the underage morons that were drinking, but to the innocent families that live along the way.

Not everyone ends up homeless but we have way too many bums whose parents think that it is OK. My contention is we aren't hard enough. Public humiliation, REAL community service and a stiff fine would discourage this behavior. People like you who make excuses that other people did it so it's OK is screwed up. How about not trying to be their "buddy" and start acting like a parent is supposed to act.

This is the norm in Dalton. Many of the kids went to an after prom party where the parents were home 'watching over' everyone.
