Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em," Malvolio reads in a letter in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night." Alas, like Malvolio, George W. Bush has eluded all three ...

<<Jim Hansen, Bill McKibben, Al Gore, the other scientists who received the Nobel Peace Prize, these are the heroes of efforts against climate change; regrettably the U.S. president has been an impediment.

At least, that's how it looks from Stamford, Vermont.>>
ALGORE scientist??? It is definitely looks like that from Stamford only! Stamford is the town, who is leading the world into the future - no jobs, producing nothing and consuming everything! Most useless place on earth - may be good for rich people with a lot of old money!
Do you really think that the world will listen to these raveling of mand man? If you believe in that your place in nut house! Did you ever leave this little village once in your life to see the world?

Al Greenplanet Gore, whose home consumes nearly 20 times the average in energy, who owns environmentally filthy zinc mining operations, coal mines given to his New World Order complicit daddy by Armand Hammer, whose private jet has a "carbon footprint" that would stomp a small town.........

It is not surprising that he would be spokesman for a global tax on carbon dioxide, the life giving gas used by green plants to create the oxygen we breathe. I can hardly wait for him to make dihydrogen oxide the next bugaboogeyman.

Al Gore, hypocrite liar.

This smack far too much of objectivity. It must stop. 8*]

Injecting facts into an emotional frenzy just confuses the emoters.

Like the fact that CO2 levels increased FOLLOWING periods of warming by some 200 years and could hardly have been the cause of the warming.

But don't tell that to the greenhouse gasbags.

I lived in Stamford for a number of years,it is a nice enough town and has many good points.
Like any other town in America it also has its negative points.
Now here is an idiot from Williamstown Massachusetts, home of Williams college and the Clark art institute as well as many other elitist enclaves calling a sweet little hamlet in Vermont
one of the most useless places on Earth?
Hello Mr. nincompooper, take a look at the average net worth of the two towns and then come back to this string and tell us all how far off the truth you are!
I am also aquainted with the author of the column, and can tell you that not only is he well travelled but very witty, bright and well read.

Actually Publius is correct in his criticism of Gore.
