Thank You to Sue Bush! It's very sad it takes the presence of a reporter at these meetings to make people listen to themselves and not just run their mouths! Hope to see you more often Sue!!!!!!!
Sue, you did a tremendous job with your reporting!!!

I donate my time as a basketball coach in the winter. I donate my time as a baseball coach in the spring. I donate my time to the planning board. I have donated my time for many years for the Special Olympics. I am going to donate my time to the school board who I really look forward to working with. (Smile once in a while)you can hide behind these blogs and ridicule me all you want but this is getting us nowhere. If you really want to start helping the kids in this town join the PTG. My wife goes to every meeting and there are only about 5 people that show up. I think the PTG is a wonderful thing and could benefit with more support from the community. It is one thing to sit back and ridicule people. It is another thing to stand up, put in your time, and do something about it.

There are people who have wanted to be involved but unfortunatley have issues within the school system , which has pushed many parents away. Most people who volunteer don't usually ask for recognition.

I have never asked for recognition I was just stating a fact. You do make a valid point about not wanting to get involved because you have issues with the school. I guess I never thought about it that way. I hope in the future that people don't have to feel this way.

Hmmmm.... so then is Get Real your other screen name? Because omebody using that same name posted on a forum with this same title (which is "Stamford Residsents Seek More Input On School Budget") saying that they were sick of the school board's "Mischievous Ways" Well, if that was you, I find that pretty mischievous, especially since you are on the school board. I must say also that I agree with the person who said that parents do not volunteer much anymore because they have been driven away. We have the principal to thank for that.

It came up as "Get Real" because when you sign on to comment the Name Box remembers the last name the computer commented with.

Sorry buddy, but you have been caught.

Pretty interesting since I didn't post those and someone put Jim Saris in the username for the other... Trust me, I have no problem putting my name on these blogs. I have nothing to hide. I have posted my name all along and am proud of what I am doing . Pretty low to stoop to the level of people making me look like I am posting as "get real". This is a new all time low. Unbelievable....

That is what I am wishing for. Don't know if you were involved with the school when Leo was principal but it was those most warm and welcoming enviroment. Walked through those doors feeling at ease and happy with the way the school was run. Even got the impression that the teachers felt the same way and the secretary. Unfortunately it does not have that same feeling anymore. It is very sad for people who were drawn to this town. No one looks happy in that school, no makes you feel welcome, except for Debbie. Was involved and as much as my children are important sometimes you just need to seperate yourself from the drama and the uneasy feelings. Keep myself at a distant. Maybe you will make the right changes. Hoping with the new board that this does happen.

Nice try, Jim. If I were to believe that one, I would need to change my name from English Major to Born Yesterday.

Low is what you and your sidekicks pulled the day before election. Low is other people who demean people in meetings.
Low is putting yourself above everyone else and bragging about it!!!

Pretty ironic that the only (get real) post was from Wednesday and I posted all day yesterday and today and it suddenly pops into my posts. Give me a break.. I will say that the email I sent to the Crime Watch group was wrong and I did apologize to all for that.

All of you ... LET IT GO !!!! Take your issues to whomever and wherever you need to...but this does not look good at all. Especially when it is really only 4 or 5 people doing all the posting. This is not the truest representation of the entire town.

This is not true. I personally know of at least 15 people who have been writing on here, plus some I don't know. So please get your facts straight. That said, I'm glad this has died down, because while some debate is healthy, this was degenerating into mud slinging and hurt feelings, which is not helping our children any. I hope we can all move on and set a mature example for them.
