Don't you find it ironic that the kids attended the exclusive private school and still could not make good choices. Something to be said for the inability of an expensive private school to teach their students.

You`re missing a very important point here. You may know this 17 year old or maybe others as well, but by the police busting up this party before someone got hurt like in a car wreck, after getting drunk or high on drugs, or even getting killed, is the best thing that happened. The kids might even learn something by this and straighten out their lives and become productive mature adults, with some rehabilitation. Out of every thing that happens in life, there`s some good and there`s some bad, lets hope a lot of good comes from this.

I don't even understand why this would be an article in the paper. Parties like this get blown up all of the time. I know the kid who owned the house, and he was an honor student on full scholarship to go play sports in college. Obviously that is going to change now because of his poor decision, but you have to feel bad for the kid.
Also, to that obnoxious comment from Darien (typical Dariener), the amount you pay for education is not related to what you decide to do with it. You cannot judge the entire system of private schooling by what two students have done. Think before you make judgments.

Seriously - this is what you want your cops to spend their time and your tax dollars on? Maybe you are just jealous that you no longer know how to have a good time?
There are real crimes being committed out there - and many other people that need help.

Why didn't the police go in right away? Why did they have to watch the house for two hours? I'm sure that the parent that gave them the tip was concerned about the kids. The police could have gone in right and stopped the party from happening but they didn't. Instead they allowed the party to go on for two hours and put underage age kids at risk just so that they could make thier arrest.

What a shame that none of the kids on this posting understand just how bad this could have gotten. Sex drugs and rock & roll is not uncommon in teens and its been happening for decades but the circumstances could have been alot worse. What if one of the kids od'd or got in a car with a bunch of your friends and was so impaired that they lost control of the car and killed everyone in the car and maybe innocent bystanders? There are always going to be those who take to the extreme. This kid that threw the party is now in trouble with the law, his parents house being part of an investigation,(did they know about the party) not good for resale value and I doubt very much that had anything to do with nationality as #10 suggests and #8 is correct! You are all enabling underage drinking and allowing your kids to ruin their lives. Take to the internet folks and look up how many lives are ruined because of underage age drinking and then take a look at how many these kids have taken along with them. Get a clue and find out where your kids are going. Otherwise one day you'll know exactly where they are.

It wasn't that long ago that a teen party in Stamford resulted in a death on Eden Road.

I'm glad everyone got home safely.

Good ol' apartheid Stamford, I see you haven't changed a bit since the good old days. Back then the black kids were hunted down and arrested, harassed and recorded to ensure marginal or no participation in the gold coast "liberal" community of Fairfield County while the white kids were wilding, smoking and coking, tripping and shooting up, while committing property damage (all in clean fun, just kids you know). Of course they, being you know, white kids, ended up as managers at the home of the "3rd most corporate headquarters in America" or in the good (over paid) jobs in the dept of public works and other service departments. What ever happened to their records of misdeeds? Who knows? They never served time and if any of them got probation it must have been removed. No doubt someone looked the other way while they applied for jobs in corporate America and Wall Street.

The parents will now have their behinds sued and the kid will lose his scholarships. The only way to stop this kind of dangerous activity is to hit the perps in the wallet and that's what the law does now. Think about it. Even though these folks are priviledged, they will be shunned by people they thought were friends. There will be repercussions. Just not the criminal justice ones played out in public.

By the neighborhood, I am hazarding a guess the party was hosted by a white kid, to use your terms.

Ivy is part of Hubbard Heights. It is a racially mixed middle class neighborhood, and it skews more white than black.

Yeah, this was in Hubbard Heights, and was attended by New Canaan kids. What race do you think they are? Try again, buddy.

This is definetly not a rave! I'm a rave promoter myself and I could assure you we don't promote drugs at our parties(there are always gonna be drugs at any party, rave or not, so let's not go there,if anyone was thinking that!), nor would we endanger the lives of young kids. For the most part, if we do have alcohol there, we separate the kids from the bar area, or at least issue alcohol bracelets for those who are 21+. It just angers me that people are saying that this is a rave, when it clearly isn't. We already have a bad name, why make it worse?! lol Sounds like kids are just being kids, as always, just went about it the wrong way.
