Why has it taken this long to say that bond sells are down? Even though hwy 74 was repaved last summer, it is a very rough road. I know that their survey is going to be off. There are a lot of people that go out of their way to avoid traveling on hwy 74. It is very bumpy, very congested in area's and the 4 way in Polkton is a very dangerous intersection. Someone really needs to go over some things with the planning commission.

Why did they not just widen 218 from 74 to 485 instead of building a new road. They have been talking of widening old monroe road for 52 yr. we probably will never see the by pass

I am glad to hear that its been delayed. Not only will it be a problem for homes close but the value will also decline. If you dont like 74 then dont use it. There are other ways to get from point a to b.

And yes I will be affected by it,

I moved back here in September 1987, from Georgia, had been gone for ten years.

Been hearing about the bypass almost ever since I got back.

I don't see it. I see they moved all those poor old people and tore their houses down on 74 quite a few years ago, some of them are long gone from this earth now and could have lived out their lives in peace in their homes, not been rudely uprooted in their old age. It still pisses me off to think of that! You just don't know how much it pisses me off to ride by and see the remnants of their driveways and think of them. I just try not to think about it.

Same with me!!!! I think about poor old BD and Mary Edwards. They had to move out in their old age and I think the stress of moving took its tole on their health. Mildred Rushing is another...forced to sell and move. Luckily, she's OK. I don't know what happened to the others. They could still be living there! I'm beginning to think I'll never see a bypass in my lifetime.
