So if Harry has no Agenda, why has he teamed with Lynda Paxton...Thats why he lost my vote. Otherwise He would have been a sure vote for me. Anyone assocaited with Lynda "The Liar" Paxton will not get my vote

So I guess we should elect a mayor who is psychic and can tell the 'truth' from the perspective of others (i.e. opponents). Last time I checked telling the 'truth' from one's perspective was called an opinion.

Whew... I agree with the other poster... take the battle elsewhere your 'logic' is skewed and this is the District 1 thread.

No Unreal is not confused! Is not a Paxton supporter and was not posting in her favor! She does appear to only put forth efforts in her own favor. This poster agrees with you!

In 2005, I think Stallings residents hoped for change without knowing what they were getting. Thereís always been the perception that things are decided before it gets to the (council) meeting by teams working for their personal agendas.

I found out early after being elected, if you arenít on her team she has no need for you or your input. I believe I was elected to the council to be independent and to work for the entire town on all issues without a personal agenda.

The current mayor is a master at putting her spin on information. Sheís clearly stated to the current council she supports her own personal agenda regardless of the councilís majority position, on all issues. She talks about open government. Open government is not an individualís view on how things should be presented to the public. I believe open government is the ability to get information direct from the source in itís original form and not to be adjusted to achieve a certain goal. I always aid the public in doing this as it complies with the law.

I thought it best to review our ethics policy after the new state mandates were published. This would enable us to comply with the stateís rules and class requirements instead of having to do it over. Weíre known for having to do things more than once, which is very costly. I also agree with our council not to put out more information than the laws allow pertaining to employeesí contracts and payroll.

I did ask the mayor to do her job and let the council do ours as itís stated in the North Carolina General Statutes and Stallings Town Charter. The response the council received was she had every right to do as she pleases because sheís a citizen and if she didnít agree with the council she wouldnít support it and (would) push her own agenda. She did come up with a cost-effective solution for lack of office space. Working out of the trunk of her car was cost effective and helped some with staff stress management.

I think itís great the mayor has chosen her team early. This will enable her to get everyone on her team in compliance and well schooled in her personal agenda. Itís clear to me her objectives pertaining to businesses, staff, boards and committees. Iím sure itíll be an easy team to manage if all of her chosen players understand thereís no need for their input. Meetings should go much quicker if her team is elected because theyíll have the exact game plan before they sit down.

Good luck, guys. I know what it means to not be on her team and Iím proud to work for all residents as an independent trying to move Stallingsígoals forward through wise investments thatíll yield a quality of life without tearing down businesses, staff, boards and committees.

Since the last election didnít come close to being a good change for the town, you might want to vote for people that are independent, have over 30 years of collective hands-on experience as Stallings mayor, town council, planning board and several committees. Itíd be a pleasure to work with people who have knowledge of planning, zoning or ordinances and are willing to come to a meeting prepared so we donít have to redo things or postpone time after time, wasting tax dollars and time.

No spin here, just a group of independent people willing to work hard for the town as a whole. So if a prearranged team, run by an individual, isnít what youíre looking for, consider Lucy Drake - mayor, Al Graham - Dist. 1, Jerry Nolan - Dist. 2, Michael Matlock - Dist. 3 and Jason Klingler - Dist. 6. You donít have to contact us as a group, weíre individuals that welcome your input.

This letter represents my opinion alone. I donít need help forming my own opinions!

Although Mr.Graham insists that his list of suggested candidates is not an "endorsement," how is it any different? At least Mayor Paxton gave supporting info about the education, qualifications, and specific reasons why her recommended candidates had knowledge or experience that would advance the work of council.
Does "I don't need any help forming my own opinions" mean that Mr. Graham is not interested in his constituents' thoughts or opinions? His actions seem to suggest that he has difficulty accepting advice from anyone, including the town attorney when he was advised not to vote due to a conflict of interest.

How about this fact. Lynda paxton has so much property listed along the new turnpike that if it goes through she is slated to make over 2.5 million in commissions. Thats is a fact you can prove on the MLS system, or ask her about her property listings along the routs. Thats a fact!!!Oh thats when it is condemed by the NCDOT. She willmake doule that if it sold and not condemed. FACT!!!!

Mr. Graham, thank you very much for your letter to the editor, you opened my eyes to some things i did not know. You got my vote and i hope many others that read your letter will open their eyes.

If im not mistaken, 2.5 Million is the list price of the property, but with her commission she still stands to make one "hell" of a chunk of change by getting the council to vote the way she stands to make the most.

I happen to be a real estate agent and a member of MLS. From what I can see, Lynda has three properties listed for sale in Stallings. Two, being in Camelia Park and one, in Shannamara. None of these properties are even close to the proposed Monroe Bypass. So, I do not know where you get your F A C T S! If you could show me , I might start believing a little of what you are talking about.

Listening to the audio Graham tried to make himself out to be the hero at DOT meeting. He should be served some crow pie and thank Paxton for being right about not giving Stallings money away to Indian Trail and DOT without negotiations. I can't wait to hear from Drake and Steele to see how they spin this.
