I was there when my part of the neighborhood was annexed by Mint Hill and I witnessed Mrs. Drake contact the person who made Mint Hill release the annexed areas back to Stallings. Jill Reed's home was one of them and the smiles and compliments for Mrs. Drake were never ending. I saw all the times she stepped up to the plate for our school kids and our athletic association with excellent results. I was at school board meetings with her when she lobbied for the Porter Ridge school complex tirelessly and for a school for Stallings. This blog is being directed to discredit a very influential person who can produce results. Jill Reed is the only person full of such hate. Mrs. Drake is a US citizen who has the right to pay her $5 and run just as Mrs. Reed does. She didn't quit her post as Mrs. Reed did. I hope the public will realize Mrs. Reed plays games and not support her any longer. She needs Mayor Paxton to use her degree in MD on her. My opinion.

"I was there", You are so right, nobody has ever stood up for this town and the citizens in it as Mrs. Drake has, "NOBODY". She took this town from a crossroad in union county to a name that is reconized. WE NEED HER BACK.

This posting and the ENTIRE THREAD/TOPIC is just as inappropriate and juvenile as the thread asking why Paxton should run again. Regardless of the candidate... can people please stop attacking candidates and citizens and debate issues or just stop the nonsense completely?

Obviously there are some individuals in town more interested in childish behavior than in real issues and debate.

Supporters of any candidate should realize the havoc they wreck with their poorly thought out outbursts. It benefits no one and innocent candidates and citizens are caught in the crossfire.

56.7% percent of voters supported Paxton over Drake in 2005. There are now 4 candidates running for Mayor. To suggest that one person is responsible for anything anti-Drake or anti-Paxton is naive, foolish and also wrecklessly damages others.

because they were lead down a trail full of promises, but now they are still waiting for some of the issues to come to pass, never have and never will. The issue is who has done the best job at leading Stalling in a posative direction for the future, DRAKE HAS.

Like what? Over polulated , unfinished neighborhoods where you can not even ride a riding mower between the houses? What a about the trash company we are paying, to have our trash picked up in regular pick-up trucks and to leave half of our trash still lying in the streets?

Do you mean in the Fareview neighborhood that Paxton and her supports fought like hell and said the people that would move in the would be" low rent housing, and would be Mexican's", that neighborhood would not be that way if Paxton had done her job and continued what Mrs Drake fought so hard to accomplish. also do you mean the land that Paxton got so mad because she lost the sale to someone else. Mrs Drake wanted a place for the good people of that neighborhood to live, to start a Family, to have neighborhood schools for their kids, but Paxton hated it and did not want it.
