It seems that there are plenty of tejano , country , rock , sports ,and talk radio stations down there , but if they ever do have something close to being a black radio station , it's got to be rap or hip hop . Since i'm black myself , i don't like rap also , i like oldschool 70s and 80s r&b music ,even if it's underrated music you hardly hear on the radio nowadays. In Dallas , they got good black music , but in Houston , they have nothing but rap and that's geared towards mostly the white and Latino society so that's what makes Dallas more of a black mecca than Houston.

Clear Channel own Houston radio. They killed all good music in Houston. Majic 102 may still be there. They play a mix of soul/r&b and soft jazz. Personally I would go free Internet radio from you computer. I haven't listened to radio in years. Peace brother.

Why do you need a black radio station? How does race play into this anyway?

@ Freebyrd: Some could turn that around and says there are too many black people in this world.

Tejano music! Where? As far as i know Tejano music is gone here in H town sad but true, the only station that i get thru my droid phone is 107.5 out of San Antonio.
Study shows that there is more latinos from Mexico and south and central America then us the true Tejanos ( Texans) people from latnin country do not like our Tejano music :( and i don't understand why sometimes they still csll it go tejano day for the Houston rodeo when its not. Tejano bands are people or hidpanics that were born here in Texas. The rhytnm of the music is totally different then that of south of the border.
