TEC leaders will rethink nothing. They certainly appear hardened in their hearts against the truth of God's Word and anyone who holds to it. Their boasts of inclusiveness obviously don't include those who hold to historic TEC and CoE doctrine. Their "growth by decline" program is working too well to abandon. The decline isn't finished yet, go the growth can't begin.

What a strange set of false ideas.

No. This is your wish for TEC.

.God said if you must lie down with someone let it be a woman. People like to make your own stuff up it makes them feel good. But the truth is still A lie. People think they could justify abortion they could think that all they want. But when the time comes if they believe in God,They will be judged by him. In all the Catholics that be long to the Democratic Party, will be judged for promoting abortion.

I came here because I wanted to find open minded, accepting and loving Episcopalians who like me want to promote love and inclusion within my parish. My Parish has been kidnapped by a Recto who idolizes The Previous Bishop of the Diocese of SC. They are all guilty of the crime of conspiring to relieve the parishes of funds and property over a long period of time in order to make Mark Lawrence some king of dictator/pseudo king in this new religion. Kinda like corporate raiders but with the Diocese of SC. Guess what? We aren't all that stupid. Some sheep may follow you and you "selective inclusivity" and meet in the tent in the field or the tin building out on the highway and continue to whoop it up spreading that hate speech veiled as a sermon. You can take of ladies Bible study groups-(I assume they might get to radical for your liking) or try to teach you little Sunday School kids to "not talk to the little boy with the different skin color, or the kid with the liberal parents. Grandmama can't go have tea with the ladies of the ECW anyone, because she has a gay grandson and supports gay rights. Longstanding Vestry Members with be shunned and asked to leave the church if they don't outwardly agree with the new pretend Diocese. If you choose to leave TEC and not follow their doctrine, you cannot call yourself and Episcopalian any longer nor reep the benefits of such. You donations don't support TEC or any of it's missions-the Bishop probably has it hidden everywhere. He will be evicted from the Rectory and TEC owned property. You will be seem on the wrong side of history. You continue to allow Mark Lawrence to promote and preach exclusivity for minority groups and denial of church services and communion to those who want to follow the Lord and seek to know more about him and you know what you have? You dont have a church -you have a private club that teaches it's congregation to follow a terribly flawed hate monger mortal human and that makes you a cult.

Rebecca,

There are many on this Episcopal Church Forum on Topix that are strongly and truly Christian in the true sense of the word. They are, we are, disciples of Christ Jesus and do adhere to His Teachings.

We do not allow the hate-mongers and segregationists, the institutionalized hypocrites and bigots to go unchallenged. We do not permit them to preach condemnation and judgment over innocent people or children who are born with a different sexual orientation without any refutation. We do and will challenge them.

We understand that there are church leaders who misuse scripture to promote a type of exclusivity that Jesus would have and did openly criticize. Jesus sharply criticizes hypocritical judgmentalism, including a fundamentalist-literalist legalism that the Pharisees represented then and which are still present in many of today's churches, including some of our own.

You can read this very type of misapplication of scripture in the posts preceding this post on this very thread.

But, do not be disappointed. Finding people who celebrate the Teachings of Christ and who look for ways to extend His Light and Love into the lives of the outcasts and the rejected is what Jesus asks of us.

We ARE here. Take heart. Keep your faith.

... but isn't it all too convenient for you and others like you that all the hate-mongers just happen to disagree with your so-called "truly Christian" views?

Joe,

There truly are institutionalized hypocrisies and traditional bigotry, dug in tighter than a tick in many so-called "Christian" denominations as well as individual churches and parishes.

Whether any of this is convenient or not doesn't relly matter, does it?

Jesus said that his disciples would be reviled and persecuted. For these, convenience is not something either hoped for or expected.

Reread this Lady's post. It is a clear indictment of many in her church who are not sincere in the elements of their discipleship to the Teachings.

It does when you're the one pointing out those churches and parishes; jut remember that the other four fingers are pointing back at you.

LOL!!!....

Hey, Ole Buddy, Ole Pal .....

It isn't me doing the pointing. Let the record of who these people are and what they stand for speak for itself!

And as for pointing, take the word of the Lady from North Carolina who is grappling with these bigotries face to face and person to person. What is she having to deal with?

Bishop Lawrence is their leader. He is the obstructionist.

Sorry, bud. It's all out in the open on this one.

How gallant of you to now blame her, or are you acting out one of your sermons about what happened in the Garden of Eden?

You do recall that verse about "the woman you gave me gave me the apple," don't you?

Excuuuuuuse ME!.........

I don't blame her. I side with her, Rebecca, of Post #5 above.

She wrote, obviously complaing about the obvious and now documented hypocritical and bigoted behavior of the gang led by Mark Lawrence.

And now what? You are somehow trying to pit my comments against hers and her observations?

LMFAO!!!!....(The F stands for Friar)

I guess you must be figuring on going into the weekend wearing your Jerk Hat. Your choice to do this, of course. But, I am not interested in being a part of that equation.

If she is looking for an occasional conversation refuge among fellow Episcopalians who share heer ideas in discipleship with Christ Jesus, she is welcome here.

Nevertheless, she will still have to, no doubt, put up with the off-base negativity and duplicity brought onto these threads by you.

I welcome her, anyway. Plus, it is good to hear from Episcopalian people who are right in the middle of this Mark Lawrence-guided conflict.

sounds like Episcopalians are gayer than Catholics, but Catholics will always have more pedos
