That was a DUMB thing to say!! God Bless Them, I'm sure they loved each other very much,, And I'm sure if one passed before the other it would have been a terrible strain on the one remaining,, I love my wife very much also & after 38 yrs of marriage I would miss her dearly! If its to be i hope we pass together as They Did.

Idiot! How dare you insult this sweet couple? They worked their entire lives to retire here! Do YOU check for a functioning telephone each time you step into an elevator!?

Rest in Peace Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth

Very tragic is the only way to describe this happening. This story is very sad.
May they rest in peace.

And may the family and friends get comfort in the fact that they died as they had lived -- together; and know they are in a better place.

As one who has been stuck in an elevator, I know the importance of working telephones.

But this could be used as a reminder that if you are elderly or alone, maybe carrying a cell phone OR something around your neck in case of emergencies is in order. Something for family members to consider for their loved ones. Would be worth the expense for peace of mind.

The only thing sadder than that story is some of these loser comments.
