As a tax payer and parent in the St. Regis Falls School District I am ashamed how poorly the school grounds are kept. There are 2 full time custodians during the day, and 2 on 3-11 shift. I was up there recently for the fun day and I was disgusted on the lack of care the custodians give for the grounds. I know when you have to mow there is trimming involved and you have to actually do physical labor by getting off the mower and using a weed eater, but that is what you get paid for! There was Garbage tucked here and tucked there! The custodians should be ashamed of themselves. It was never like that before the other custodians retired!

Maybe the school should consider cleaning house and hiring new staff or better yet, bring back some of the good ones who retired. You never know, they just might like to have their job back, even part time. If not, they new school will turn into the old school.

I wish the school had the old staff back!! What they have now is a joke! I see the head custodian on the road in his personal truck more then I do at the school working!

So I have to agree with all this. I'm in that school often for my child its sad when you dont want your children to sit on the toilet seats let alone go in the pee smelling bathrooms. I hope they clean the bathroom outside the auditorium before tonight. The soap built up on floor from dripping is at least 6 inches thick and the bathroom smells so bad. The whole school is so dirty and to think everytime i go to school the head custodian is walking the halls doing nothing but sucking everybodies butt like he is the best thing that walked the halls. Well personally I would hang my head with the looks and the smell of that school. You certainly arent doing anything to be proud of. The outside of the school is just as bad. have they ever heard of a weedwacker the trim is so long you cant even sit on the field benches the grass has grown threw the bleachers. I know its hard to get off the riding lawnmower but really????? That school needs to wake up and look at their so called head custodian he sucks. Our kids, staff and community suffer from this butt sucking employee if thats what you want to call him. Hey head custodian why dont you do your job and get off your lazy A** and do your job before our kids get sick from all the dirt and germs you fail to clean. I hope the school administration sees this and does something for once. Maybe somebody should make a phone call to the state maybe that will make them wake up and move on this subject.

This is sad, because this was a pretty school. My son went here a few years back, so its been a while since I have been in the school.... so I would not even know, but from these post, its sounds pretty bad and it should definitely be look into so it can stay looking new for our kids and yes to also prevent the kids from catching anything funky...

I also moved away a few years ago but I also remember that the school cut the staff by 5 people. and added more work to them 3 people to clean maintain repairs and do all ground work is a lot to do.

Maybe if people would become involved in the school they may see a different light. Citizens own the school. Don't start complaining when you can't have your way. After hours the school is a very clean environment. Only when some people leave their mess do others complain. Take an active roll in children's academics. Show up to Meetings and become involved. That' how its done.

That's funny b/c I am a very active parent and very involved! The mess left behind most of the time that people see is the lack of ambition from the custodial staff!! Drive out back and look at the stuff stacked up that should not be there! I know it's a big place for 3 men to keep up but come on! It's the small stuff that is over looked!

i came up for the graduation on friday and looked around. over all the place is in good shape lawn mowed weed wacking mostly done. there was some more that needs to do but im sure they will get to it.theres been a lot of rain this year.i do know that there is only 1 custodian on at night and 2 during day time.there was also 1 custodian position done away with and 2 bus driver cleaners jobs gone with budget cuts. the size of the building is like cleaning 40 homes everyday with 300 hundred kids and 80 personel plus visiters. the lawn is 13 acres to mow and weed wack. i do know that the the school also made the cleaning staff in charge of shipping and receiving. i think some people has a personal promblem here also which should not be wayed in and i know everyone has a opinion.may be the school needs to open back up some of the jobs they took away. been to a lot meetings there but never heard anything about bringing back any workers. this is why people move away from here because people cant be up front and ask questions they post it on here. it then turns into a crap season thats not needed. should be talking in person and asking questions maybe you understand more. i know this post will be put down thats just way so people are.

Well of course the school looked good its because of all that has been said on topixs, and yes I will say it did look nice (the lawn). The bathrooms were still dirty and smelled, a little bleach goes along way. I do agree with getting more custodians its a big building for 3 custodians to handle and cleanliness should be top priority on their list, but I also need to argue the point of just becuz you are head custodian doesent mean you dont get on your hands and knees and scrub like the rest of them. Walking the halls dont get work done unless you put sponges on your feet and then the halls would glisten. They rave about he is saving us tons of money thats great but they need to teach him how to clean and be a boss. Just a heads up most bosses work just as hard as their staff if not harder. If he cleaned as much as he sucks up to people our school would be spotless. I do feel bad for the nights custodian becuz he is always left to clean all the rooms and then has to pick up the slack of the 2 day shift custodians doing nothing beside the riding lawnmower and cleaning the cafeteria. He should get a raise becuz at least he tries to do his job description and everybody elses too. Its sad and I wish something or someone would do something about this issue. Maybe they should have a community help clean the school day this summer I'm in.

The only comments that are protecting the boss or the couple custodians are from Dickinson lol!!! Obviously you think it's a personal thing against one or two custodians it's not!!! Look at all the different people posting on here! It's not just one person!!! I have 1 kid who is in 7th grade this year and another in 5th! Plus I have an aunt that works there so I am there a lot helping with things, there is no place that's perfect but come on when you see things week after week come on! Don't blame it on the cuts! There ways to do things! It wasn't this bad 3 years ago it just gets worse and worse every year! Just suck it up and do your job! The complaints would end!!!!
