They rent there because it is cheap and they aren't allowed to live in most other places. I think it's a good thing to have them across the street from the Sheriff's office, don't you? It's not like any tourists would want to stay in that dumpy motel!

because they don't have anywhere else to live! it's pretty simple. they're told they can't live within 1000 feet or 2500 feet of a school, playground, park, bus stop, but then everyone gets mad because one tiny location has a bunch of offenders. well its because thats one of the FEW spots they can actually live.

What's the point of this story. To tell me to avoid this motel that I've never even heard of and would have no reason to stay at? Or, is it just filler on a slow news day?

Slow news day and the Sentinel's inability to write about better topics and do real journalism. The only guy that comes close works at channel 6, Mike Holfeld. Off the top of my head, no others come to mind, in print or TV.

So they move into a hotel near all the tourists and their children. That's easy prey if you ask me.
