How did this proposition get on the general election ballot ? A few months ago voters received a couple of very fancy flyers from the ambulance district patty themselves on the back for the great job they do { THAT YOU PAY THEM FOR & EXPECT } and how wonderful we think they are . Now out of the clear blue sky they need a TAX INCREASE to cover the wonderful job they have done { THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR } but no explanation on WHY more money is needed { JUST VOTE US MORE AND WE WILL SPEND IT NO QUESTIONS ASKED OR ANSWERED JUST VOTE YES }. WHAT IS THIS ABOUT ?????????

I agree with post 1 and 2 wholeheartedly, but look at what we have going to the polls.Totally uninformed voters, just look at the elections this past Nov,need I say more? Prop E is a given.

I understand everyone's concern. My family and I can't afford reckless spending in our home or by our taxes. So I see where you all are coming from, but when I looked into Prop E I decided it was worth the extra .11 cents. Unlike a lot of other groups, this would be their first tax increase. Which means they have been running off the same tax rate since they were started in the 70s. As a fiscal conservative that means they have been running their budget for as long as they can and doing it well. Wish others did that before asking for a tax increase! Like you said they did send out a lot of what they do well. Why wouldn't they? If your gonna ask for my tax dollars you better show me you have been spending what you have well. Looking at the rewards, their statistics, it seems they have.

Like I said, I understand where everyone is coming from, but lets not paint a broad brush. Not all tax increases are created equal or who is asking for them all bad. With out county growing, along with our elderly population, the needs grow as well. I'm willing to fork over the .11 cents (50.00 a year with my home) to make sure we have a great ambulance district. I'll want it there in an emergency and I'm sure you will too.

So lets thanks our paramedics and keep saving the lives of St. Charles County with a job well done with .11 cents. They have my YES vote and I think you all should reconsider as well.

What I don't understand is the VOTERS don't read how and why the district was formed and where they receive there money from and how they spend it . Over spending and working SPECIAL SERVICES & PRICE'S for the poor not the general tax payers has caused them a major financial problem for one item called COMPASSIONATE BILLING has come to bite them & other UNKNOWN DEALS not known by the the general public .Now they want the WORKING TAX PAYING HOME OWNERS to vote an increase for there WONDERFUL GIVE AWAY PROGRAMS .I understand helping those in need BUT ( HELP ) is getting OUT OF CONTROL these days & VERY COSTLY !!!!!

They are doing very well on what they have. They are living within their means like the rest of us should be. They haven't pissed money away on new facilities with weight rooms and plush digs like some of the fire districts have. They realize they need only have a place to be in out of the weather and have a decent place from which to conduct their business. Are you not aware, that when the assessor kicks up the value of your home it also increases your tax out lay, and the districts in turn get a bit more of your cash. This is how they have been able to keep up since their inception. If you can't afford to pay your part of whatever the ambulance bill is,I would suggest that after the fact, you handle it as you would any other debt you acquire. You get a job, borrow the money,do what every other responsible person does to keep the slate clean. I am fed up with "re-distributing" my earnings with a bunch of free loaders. If all else fails, petition the"Community organizer in chief",see if he will pick up your tab like everything else you get for free. Just use your gubment issued cell phone and give him a call.

I hope you don't need an ambulance and they are out! Good Luck, I voted yes, perhaps they will come to me or my family before yours! Wake up stupid people, we voted YES for a parking garage but not for more paramedics and ambulances, YOUR IDIOTS IF YOU VOTED NO!!

Voted no myself, I visited their facebook page and they liked to brag about all the awards they have won over the years. They were able to provide award winning service with the old tax rate up until now. Its not like the streets of st charles have just been a bloodbath under the old tax rate.

P.S. If I need an ambulance I get a billed, its not like this is a completely tax funded operation.
