It's been almost 1 month with no charges yet against this cottleville police officer. So is it ok to point an AK-47 at your wife just as long as you don't pull the trigger??? Another fine reason to live in Cottleville.

The cottleville police dept has had many complaints on this officer. Harrassing citizens, abusing his authority as a police officer. I'm suprised they kept this loser on the force. You won't hear any of that from cottleville officials. I'm happy O'fallon Police Dept. is conducting the investigation.

nice thing is the Chief knew about domestic issues 3 years ago when the wife claimed it would come down to this one day. But as usual for that officer nothing happened. The list goes on and on and on

If she brought up those concerns to the dept. 3 years ago about this inept police officer, And cottleville kept him on the force all this time, I'd like to see that "internal" investigation if one was done. If this is brought up during the investigated by the O'fallon police department and they find nothing was done then the Cottleville Police Chief should get his walking papers and go manage a Steak and Shake.

Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your insights. Even if no one is paying attention now, there is no predicting how valuable it may be to someone who decides to pry the lid off later.

What do you want to know Cloud? The stories go on and on and on.... rape accusation, brutality on a "DWI" stop with a woman, stealing cars, false arrests, arresting women but releasing them if a date is set I mean the stories really go on and on...

I can't wait to see the charges. The officials in Cottleville knew of these stories and did nothing about it.

Be careful driving through Cottleville. My daughter got a ticket for "speeding". When it was all said and done it cost us over $400 and they changed the charge to a "noisy muffler". I guess $$ talks and truth walks in Cottelville.

Don't worry, like most abuse victims he will probably be renewing his wedding vows with the woman he pulled the gun on. Then everyone will be "surprised and shocked" when she is suddenly "missing". Women always think it will change and get better...sad.

Check out this link to a story on the O'Fallon Watchdog www.ofallonwatchdog.org/owheadlines014.html it outlines more corruption in Cottleville. Scroll to the bottom and look at the differnces between the Cottleville P.D. report and the Cottleville Fire District report concerning the same incident.

It's too bad scumbags like this don't get put in the general prison population once they're convicted of lying, stealing and abusing their power.

Believe everything that "anonymous" has stated above. I have heard the same exact stories and could even confirm some are ABSOLUTELY true.

Definitely not the first time he has beat up a woman. The list goes ON AND ON.

I hope he gets what he deserves. Still no charges filed, but I hear it is because the wife has refused to cooperate. UNBELIEVABLE.

I have been "behind the blue wall" in another state for almost 10 years. Though the wheels of justice grind slowly for ALL, the Cottleville PD is doing damage control as would be expected for one of their own. But the wheels of justice will keep rolling, his day in court will happen, and the judge or jury will decide.
It is a blessing for the Cottleville PD that the O'Fallon PD is doing the investigation so as to further relieve Cottleville PD from colusion or accusations of cover-up.
I would bet that the Cottleville PD, officers, detectives, techs, and family members are completely embarassed and disgusted by the behavior, actions, and criminal behavior of this officer.
I would just caution everyone to remember that there are an enormous amount of law enforcement that try to do their job under the disgraceful dark cloud created by these complete misfits.
Thank you.

Look at the KMOV TV story. The cottleville police chief didn't know why O'fallon put out an A.P.B.? This loser cop just beat up his wife and held a gun to her head. The cottleville chief Lewis doesn't understand how to run a police dept. and O'Fallon did everything by the book.
You see Mr Lewis, If this cop decides to stop and start shooting people with the gun he stole from your police dept. It would have been part O'fallons fault. It's your fault you left this guy on the force with all the complaints.

BTW, Did you know Chief Scott Lewis is a big Talbott supporter. The former police chief of O'Fallon who was fired a few years ago. I wonder if Budget Towing has the Cottleville contract to?

What does Steve Talbott have to do with any of this? He was a good man run out by a crazy mayor and a council ready to jump on each other. Have you watched any of their ways over the past years?? Of course the Chief of Cottleville would be friends with the Chief of O'fallon, wouldn't you want that???? Aren't you friends with people you work with? One bad police officer does not mean they are all bad.

I don't know anything about this story, but I do know this from personal experience. In St. Charles county it is extremely easy to get a temp "ex-parte adult protection order". No proof needed, an 11th district judge signs them all day long. And the respondent can't do a thing about it until the hearing a month later. The petitioner has time to sell anything they want and get social services to pay the bills. The respondent will have to repay state weather guilty or not.
