InBev Agrees to Buy Anheuser For $50 Billion
U.S. brewer Anheuser-Busch Cos Inc agreed to a $50 billion takeover by Belgium-based InBev NV , a source familiar with the situation said on Sunday, creating the world's largest beer maker.

Apparently no. There was a lot of Japanese money being spent buying up real estate and businesses in the late 1970's before their economy collapsed.
