What are the politico's we voted in office doing? Nothing but drawing a check....Why cant they help.My dad still lives in Florissant and the mayor stepped up to the plate and put in a code to stop the insurance companys from cheating the homeowners. My parents had this happen and replaced 7 pieces of siding like they wanted and it looked like crap. New next to old. A code officer stopped by and told my parents that the house would not pass inspection. They sent that notice to the insurance company and they replaced the siding all of it. Is O'Fallon the great that backwards? Where is our support from City Hall ?

Same problem here... I called our alderman and he said that they would look into it. My insurance company said they didnt care. Would be nice if we did get some help from O'Fallon you think they would care.

I don't know what companies you have for insurance, but when we had a claim on our siding, simple scratches from a downed tree, our insurer insisted on replacing the entire side on the house to avoid mismatched siding. A close match with minor differences is unnoticable on a transition from one side to the next.

If your agent isn't fighting for you, maybe you should go to the Farmer's agent on the Wentzville Parkway. He took care of us.

City Hall are a bunch of lazy high paid bums drawing a check. All they want to do is sit on their asses and get paid.I will not vote for any incumbent next election.I know my subdivision had made at least 10 calls asking for help on this siding situation and not one had a return call. I quesss we are the only ones concerned with our homes being devalued.

There are many subdivisions that were affected in O'Fallon from K&N area up to Highgrove and 79 .And it does seem O'Fallon officials dont give a darn.

Its a shame that the fathers of O'Fallon the top ten best cities in the U.S. to live in are not caring enough to adopt the same policy that Florissant Mo did.I agree the policy makers we elected to office really dont give a crap about the homeowners.I got tired of calling and never getting anything but a recording.Do they work fulltime? If so,i never seem to catch any one at work answering the phone, just get recordings when I call. Maybe the jobs are part time ....

Yes the insurance company approved half my roof and 1 wall of siding that isnt even made anymore. The insurance companys are a rip off.I have called my agent and he better do something about it.Why dont we have building codes here in Ofallon so this cant happen. Called State Farm and after waiting on line for a half hr.finally got to adjustor flat told me they dont care if it matches.I do and if they wont pay want I them to pay me for loss of value.
Some Insurance co. are better than others but they can all be tough to work with. Would you go to court without a lawyer? Hire a Local company that deals with them daily. State Farm is actually one of my favorite companies for matching siding. I haven't lost yet. My last claim I just settled yesterday started at 7,800.00 to 42,500. It's a slow process but worth it in the long run. Trust me I've been so frustrated with all the different companies at one time or another over the years. Before I was in the business I got denied and didn't do anything about. I didn't know any better. Now I make them pay for all the damages that they owe homeowners.

I am sorry to hear all the bad news about your claims. I also had Shelter insurance up until last October. Prior to that I was will Farmers. While with Farmers I had a leak in a pipe in the basement that flooded one finished area. Their check was $325.00 to fix a $1500 damage claim. After that I inquired about my daughters car being ransacked and items stolen they constituted that as a claim and cancelled me after being with them for 25 years there was no claim they stated hat every inquiry is considerred a claim. Now I have Liberty Insurance. I made a claim also about my roof and siding being damaged, by the hail storm.
The claim went smooth and more than fair they assisted me throughout the process and the special disaster assessor arrived 2 days after the storm. I was treated very well and highly recommend Liberty Insurance. My agents name is Anthony Berra and the premium for my house two cars and a motorcycle was reduced in half.

We had a house fire and we owe $80,000 on our house it is insured for $150,000 but there was over $80,000 in damages done. I have replacement insurance I thought if the cost of repairs exceeded the the amount owed it should pay off the house. Am I right?

No they won't pay off our house. They repair it and you will still owe the mortgage company the $80,000.

There is a Missouri Insurance Commissioner report out on this issue. Missouri is a matching state as opposed to a "line of sight" state like Nebraska
