Not sure I understand, if someone lost their job due to the ecomic downturn , they will not be able to get a loan anyway? I was under the impression the people who applied for these loans had to be employed. Usually a minimum of 5yrs in the same company or industry to qualify for a home loan as it should be. As far as someone digging themselves into a financial crisis due to credit card debt, this is where we disagree. I don't feel the need to bail individuals out of their own creation of their own doing. If you can't make ends meet without supplementing your income with credit then you are obviously over extended and you need to get a second job or learn to live with in your means.

Habitat Homeowners pay city taxes monthly and homeowners insurance - every month just like you do- unless you like to pay one big lump of money at the end/beg. of the year- habitat homeowners do not have an option, it has to be paid monthly!! They are required to pay one year homeowner insurance up front then it is included in the payment starting the first month. If you do not pay taxes or homeowners, you will not continue to have the home - bottom line and no exceptions!!! These homes are interest free, that is what makes them affordable...

Who pays the extremely high St. Peters property tax and insurance on these homes?
Sounds like another liberal social experiment. Have they built in Habitat homes in Ladue yet?

You are saying the person living in the home makes full payments as well as the full insurance and taxes. The only thing they are not assessed is the interest. Correct? Where is this information available to the public?

Why is this program not available to everyone? This would be a HUGE economic stimulus. I can't imagine how much extra income I would have to spend on other goods and services if I didn't have to pay interest on my home loan which almost doubles the cost of the home.

Where do I sign up for my interest free home?

I'm not for just giving stuff away either. My comments are framed around the fact there's been a very large number of hard working people that have lost their homes not because of them being Slackers but because they lost their good paying job due to the economic downturn, rippoff mortages, outragous credit card debt and the like.
Think about the number of companies that folded or relocated jobs overseas. Great family sustainable jobs vanishing not by the fault of the worker. These are the people that can take advantage of the homes discussed here.
Lazy losers don't deserve something like these homes offer. A person that has a job in their lap and does not take it, nope, not in my formula.
I am still waiting on an answer from my last post.....?

So why do feel the need to bail people out of credit card debt with government funds? That they obviously brought on themselves?

And another thing, Habiat homeowners make too much money for assisted housing. Dont you think it would be much easier for them to leave on section 8 or Necac but they actually work for a living and make more then the welfare standards!!!
Then why do they insist on seeking a government HANDOUT?

Habitat homes only show the future demise of a community .The other demise comeing is the busing of loser students from a loser school district mandated by a loser court system .Any time AMERICA goes one step up on the ladder of success by blood , sweat & tears your elected officials will push you down two. There job is to KEEP YOU GUESSING & CONFUSED . GOOD LUCK
