Mom says he was such a good kid. I'm a good kid too, that's why I run from the cops with a gun in my car.

the other kid provoked the fight , but he was sent to reform school, and all his resulting actions were because of reform school--l.o.l. and one less banger

Somehow I suspect the death of this budding Division I athlete, wonderful father and aspiring scholar will be laid at the door of the cops by his family. Nothing to do with being out at 3am, driving on a suspended license with dope and a gun in the car, and running from the cops after crashing your car. Not the moro-er, victim's fault for all of the choices he made. File this one under tough s--t. Many of life's problems can be avoided by this simple maxim-don't go stupid places with stupid people and do stupid things. Dude seems to have hit the trifecta with this one, and it cost him.

Oh guys, you are all so harsh- his behavior is all due to the fact that he wasn't raised with an active father. (please note the heavy use of sarcasm....)

Assault, but the other kid provoked it
Reform school, caused him to hang out with kids who stole cars and doing other bad things....Mom is putting her sons blame on everything else except where it belongs. Her kid chose his own path.....he is the one to blame and no one else. I am sure is is now going to blame the cops for her sons death, after all if the officer hadn't tried to stop him he would not have fled which caused the crash...Where are these peoples values?

What type of questions does the mother have? The basics are in the article and the police report is public with more details. Sounds like the mother is going through the grieving process. Though Mr. Teigen may have wanted to change his life around, his actions were not following his intentions.

It makes me sad to read all these inhumane comments. I think that you are all alienated from the world. You don't realize that you are talking about a real person with a family and friends. This kind of negativity really does not help; it only makes it worse. I think that it is really sad that he went to reform school and came out a different person. Maybe we should reconsider these schools for young people. Can you imagine what it would be like to be labeled at such a young age and sent away to be with all the other bad kids? I'm just saying, his Mom is telling a story and at the very least you people could just hold your hurtful comments.

hey mom, the fact of the matter is that the city of St. Paul and the state of MN is a safer place now that Justin is DEAD. He was a gun carrying drug dealer. Period. His actions that night have saved St. Paul and MN alot of money, time and police effort. One more dead drug dealer, oh well live like that, die like that.
