So Jeremiah Ellis is going to work full time at the school. Ellis will also serve as a liaison between the school and the office of city council member Melvin Carter. Melvin is a total creep.

Nancy Stachel will be leaving as Chief of Schools. Yes, there is a higher power.
What interesting turn of events these are. Nancy gets the armpit of the District and Ellis gets farmed out. Ellis was the toad of Dr. Carstarphen. It looks like Valeria is cleaning house of Dr. Carstarphen's pets.

These two loads need to be fired. They have caused a lot of harm to SPPS and are personally responsible for the poor state of our public schools in St. Paul.

Belinda Green did not resign on her own accord.
Belinda Green was forced to resign. She was
fired. Why can't the district and the media be
honest about that? Why the cover-up? She was
an incompetent, abusive principal. Why protect
her? St. Paul Schools would be better off if
the administrators would be honest and real.
Good for Superintendent Silva for cleaning house
in the Ivory Tower. There is a lot of dead
weight there, including N. Stachel.

The board would then have to admit they screwed-up with personnel placement ... one of 360's biggest problems.

And, heavens!... we certainly can't admit to having allowed Ms Green to batter Maxfield further (while being ill). My problem is not with Ms Green's illness and I do hope she gets better. My problem is with the board leaving her there for as long as they did.

Now that's arrogance ... and insulting to the general public who pay the bills.

I attended Maxfield in the 60's. It was lousy then and unfortunately for the 1,000's of children who have attended, it is still lousy. SPPS needs to place a strong, high powered administrator in there with the strength to support the good teachers and move out the bad. Matter of fact, the bad or marginal teachers should be systematically released, however it takes quite some time.

Our children have not been prepared to move forward. When will this end??

Yes, Maxfield has had troubles for many years. It seems last year was
a very bad year for the school. It seems the public would like to blame
the teachers and some of the administrators. Educating children is
more complicated than that. In order for children to thrive academically,
they need support from home, good nutrition, a solid bond with an
adult that cares and sound mental health. An early childhood experience
for the children would be helpful too. Children that are loved and cared
for are in a much better position to learn and thrive. It's hard to learn
when you are hungry, abused, neglected or come from a violent home.
It is hard to learn when drugs or alcohol are ever present in the home. I hope Maxfield School can work with the community to provide the best possible learning environment for their students. I hope Maxfield school
will look at the whole child and help them be happy, healthy children
that come to school ready to learn. All our children deserve the best
possible opportunity to achieve. That can only be done with the support
of parents and guardians, the community, teachers and administrators.
Remember, parents are a chid's first teachers.

Nancy your fingerprints are all over this one.

This was just posted in the Minneapolis Star Tribune about how St. Paul schools retaliated against a worker who did the right thing.

This is happening more often than the public knows.

GREAT article! I've said this before - you shouldn't have to have a lawyer on retainer just to keep your job in this district. When all of this was going down 3 years ago, Belden knew it but never did much to report on it. And, now it has been several days since he was scooped by the Trib and still no report on this issue...
