Chief Bieker is a life long resident of the Ferdinand community. His devotion to Ferdinand makes him an asset, which is reinforced day after day thru his interactions with the citizens, the businesses, the schools/children, the county and the state. He continually puts the needs of Ferdinand ahead of his personal life, providing support and assistance 24/7......it comes from the heart!
Ferdinand and Chief Bieker deserves to know why the City Council asked for his resignation. The community will accept the resignation only after a viable, detailed explanation is provided.
The City Council needs to remember that they are elected officials, elected to serve the community. The City Council will be replaced if they lose the trust of the community.
Ferdinand citizens should consider making the Chief of Police an elected positon. The concept works well for the rest America and allows the police department to serve the community, not the good ole boys in 'City Hall'.
