My last stay in Bristow was in 1959-1960. I lived at the old hotel,gas-station,tavern and eatery. There was an old school house on the hill. I was in the third grade and it seemed half the town was some distant family. I remember this time as who I really am and who I wanted to be when I grew up.
I see in the aerial photo that the hotel lot is vacant. Does anyone have any photos during this time period? I would love it!
My dad died Nov. 2005 and I have no one in which to reminisce. s.kgoodwin@att.net

my great uncle bud peirrard was principal at bristow school. my fathers family is connected and our roots on the ostheimer side is deep. i remember going to the store and getting an ice cream cone. the tavern was at one time owned and ran by my dads aunt and uncle. radie aders had the little store at the south end of bristow. i was just in bristow this past saturday for my uncles burial at the cem on the hill and i had no idea how many family members we have buried up there. i have lots of memories of that little village and of its people. there is a guy named riley lampkin who is you look him up on the web; might have a picture of the area. or is you go to the bristow indiana history on the web, you may see a pic of the town back in the day.

Bristow is full of nothing but lazy, white trash people these days, save a select few. I'm sure it is nothing like you remember it. Historical structures have either been torn down or taken over by these trashy people and they have destroyed them. It's sad looking town these days.

I remember those days fondly. seems like a lot of the historical structures mysteriously burned down one at a time. there are two nice older houses one restored still left and a few other old houses that look nice. you can find lazy people in any town so that doesnt count for much.
