If 100% of Splost proceeds went to paying down the water sewer debt I would vote YES in a minute.

Then we can have an honest debate about raising my mill rate for those special interest projects.

Okay, let me take it seriatim, if this thing will allow that much on one post.
Q: Are you saying without a second thaught that if SPLOST7 passes you will say there will be zero tax increase from St. Marys or no water bill increase?
Absolutely NOT. I've never said or suggested that. There WILL be both a millage rate increase and a water/sewer rate increase whether SPLOST VII passes or fails. That is the responsible thing for cvouncil to do. However, if it fails, the increases in the millage and water/sewer rates, respectively, will necessarily be MUCH larger than they would have been had it passed. The debt service nut they have to crack is a given. We can spread the tax base or follow ideolgue lunatics like Jeremy Spencer and vote it down to spite our own wallets.
Point: Jay you were the person that told them to pay it down with 6 and they in a round about way to go screw yourself you were wrong.
Comment Indeed I was. Were you and Gene there that night? Sounds like it. I will not be the first time my advice has been ignored.
What dat "seriatim" means? I don't can fine dat word in my Merriam Webster. Is dat a word dem Menstrual peoples gives you license to made up as you goes along? Why don't dey taught you to spell Filè, huh?

Because the Honorable Mayor Deloughy has promised the majority of Splost 7 will goes toward the water/sewer debt. He also promised that we will need a 44 million dollar W/S plant. He's also currently promising the snowbirds are on the way and the next real estate cartel boom is just around the corner. Heck with paying the W/S debt. we need to paint the streets Gold.

So SPLOST 7 fails. The idiots raise property tax and water and sewer bills. Enough of the real estate cartel special interest pukes.
And there you have it.

It looks likle the Camden Tea Party has their very owm Joe Biden.

The strategy: We have already succeeded in hijacking the local Repulican Party.

Now, fellow uber patriots, if we can kill the next iteration of SPLOST, thereby forcing the council to do the only resposnsible thing left - raise property taxes and water/sewer rates - perhaps enough low-information rable will be roused to vote them all out and give us anarchists complete control of the city.

Oh, and en route to the coup, don't foregt to pretend to be sympathetic to the DMA and Kearns and her legion of Leftist loons. We can tell them to piss off after the coup is a fait acompli.

Then, Brothers and Sisters, we march on Woodbine.

"There should be a moratorium on all new site plans for developments until Impact Fees are in place. The City is planning a bond issue of 40,000,000.00 for water and sewer. The question is who will pay for the bond. In my opinion the developers should. Normally the people and businesses that use the service pay for such bonds. They pay hook-up fees and then the pay consumption fees. If we go ahead now we the taxpayers will be paying for the bonds with increases in advolurem taxes. It seems to me we pay enough in property taxes as is. With Impact Fees the developers would pay. Sandy Sez;"

Sandy Feller understood speculation and risk. What did the self proclaimed genius Moron Moreno call him before the T-party and "Jeremy"? What did the City have to say? Oh thats right, no public input requested on that matter.

Yes, what did I call him? Can you post a quote?

Other than the fib he told on behalf of Bill Smith just before Smith fell to Gregory, I can't think of much Sandy did that I did not agree with.

It was either not in your paperback edition or you've already wiped your ignorant ass with that page.

And yet you spread rumors about Sandy, reported on his visits to the hospital, violated his privacy, slimed the man with your Topix crap and tried to make his life a living hell. Not everyone suffers from Revisionist History Syndrome the way that you do, Jay.

I tried to make his life a living hell, eh?

How so?

Have you tried putting "Sandy" or "Feller" or both into the search function on Topix?

You really have me concerned about my memory now.

Don't recall the "sliming," either.

By the way, you speak of Sandy in the past tense. Did I miss his obit?

Read the post again and, if you still don't understand, maybe you should take a course in basic reading comprehension.

"Sandy Feller understood speculation and risk."

Present tense would be "understands speculation and risk."

Stick with biology.

It is probably a waste of time, but I will try to explain. "A Real Genius" quoted an article written by Sandy Feller in September 2007. In discussing this article written about 6 1/2 years ago, "RG" quite correctly says that "Sandy Feller understood speculation and risk." Notice that this happened in the past, therefore we use past tense. We have no ideal what Mr. Feller understands today, so we cannot make an assumption by using present tense.

To make it even clearer, I could say that I met Mr. Jay Moreno 25 years ago and he ran (past tense) five miles every day. I would likely be in error if i were to say that he runs (present tense) five miles every day.

So, given that you have no ideal (sic)what Mr. Feller understands today, are you implying that Sandy is totally senile now?

As I said, I do not, at this time, know what Mr. Feller understands or does not understand. I have not seen or spoken to him for over two years. Hopefully, and very probably, he has a better command of the written word than do you.
