I've heard conflicting reports about why media outlets are not being contacted abou Ivy's disappearance. The family has posted on Facebook that they don't want them contacted, but supposedly it's law enforcement telling them to do this. This seems very confusing!

Liam, I agree!! It's really sending out mixed messages. In the beginning it was like, so is she missing or isn't she?? Now it finally appears that they do believe she is missing, but it seems like the word should have gotten out by all means possible IMMEDIATELY upon her not having been where she was supposed to have been. Or at least within a day or two.

Exactly, but this line from a recent news story mystifies me even more, ""We don't want to talk about what was in the car," Terrel said. "Some of her belongings were in the car. It was clearly her vehicle. She had been in it.""
That is a terribele way to phrase things. It seems like he is insinuating there was something disturbing inside the car.

Just maybe they know the daughter better than other people do. If the family had nothing to do with the disappearance of the girl then leave it alone. Maybe it is none of the medias business.

Ok I believe it is worth saying here any a little controversial but her parents are definitely not on the same page. They are divorced and have been a sour note in her life as of late. I'd hate for this beautiful young woman to suffer because her family has skeletons they don't want to come to light!

Yeah father knows best rofl. What if Ivy decided to tell her daddy that she was gay and he just flipped on her? Not saying that's what happened. I don't think her fam is too concerned about her. They didnt put out the missing flyers. Also, they have been posting pics of themselves over the weekend and they are very carefree pics. Obviously this is the furthest thing from their minds!

the news media in jacksonville wanted the parents to appear on tv but someone advised against it, perhaps because for the safety of their daughter, as for the car, I am sure the investigators cannot release what was in the car because it would jeopardize her life or the case,they know what their jobs are, everyone pray for the safe return of this young lady.

I take it ur her father? Why in the heck would she just "vanish"?? to make things worse, the detective's cryptic comment doesnt make it sound like a "get away vacay"

I don't think she is really missing because the family isn't saying anything. I mean if she were really gone any caring family would have gone to every media outlet in Florida by now. Maybe she is just on a cruise like the rumors say.

To be honest, a lot of people commenting are making this sound like juicy, entertaining gossip. Ivy's family wants their privacy honored like any family in this situation would. It actually make ssnese why the media isn't involved. While it raises awareness, having the media involved is a risk for the investigation because certain information could be released that would be detrimental to the investigation, ie it could tip off the person responsible on the details of the investigation. People just need to know that Ivy is missing and be on the lookout. Anything beyond that is just going to satisfy people's curiousity about the sordid details. Why is that so hard to understand? Stop the disrespect. Ivy's family and reputation should be honored and respected during this time; they should not be the target of unfounded rumors and malicious slander.
