In case anyone missed it with all the shutdown mess going on, Mayor Cory Booker won the Special Election for New Jersey's vacant Senate seat last night. He bested Republican Steve Logan who was supported by perennial Republican favorite Sarah Palin and other heavyweights.

Next big race: Virginia Governor, home of the Confederacy and modern day Tea Party whackadoos. Odds are favoring another Democratic win there as well.

A democrat wins an election in the liberal wacko State of New Jersey. Who would have thought?

Demostrates the political power of Chris Christie.

You're calling people who favor fiscal responsibility whackadoos??
When are you going to value the nation more than a specific party?
You think people who want to fund a bill that no one knows the cost of at at time when the nation has a 18 TRILLION dollar deficit, 40 MILLION people on food stamps aren't whackadoos??
Get a grip and take some Enocomic and Finance courses or even better use you brain!!

Yes, absolutely. Any group that intentionally would harm America, my community and my family earns a whackadoo label if not worse in my book. And actually, many people just refer to them as homegrown terrorists so I'm being polite. When you pay attention to Tea Party actions, not just their slogans, and it's readily apparent they are indeed whackadoos.

Hard to do...

Isn't it strange that whenever Republicans lose an election, the reason they say they lost includes everything including the kitchen sink, except the Republican plans and policies the Republican candidate ran on? I wonder what will happen if they ever figure it out.

I wonder when the public will care more about the nation than political parties...
Sad...

I wonder what the name of the new party that will come after the GOP finally dies off over the next two years or so.

Most likely the Conservative Party. As for dems winning the senate seat in NJ, Commie/socialist/dem Laughtenburg(?) held that seat and died. Unfortunately not soon enough!

Oh, one other thing. The senate put a $174,000.00 death benefit package in the bill just passed for the Laughtenbergs widow. His estate was valued at 64 million dollars. Can you say "PORK."

If I wanted to say PORK - I'd be looking at Republican Mitch McConnell who got close to $3-billion for a damn dam in his home state of Kentucky.

It's a fact that Republicans always have been the PORK kings of Congress. Guess they still are (i.e.,$176-thousand verses $3-billion). No wonder the country owes so much. Democrats got nothing on Republican's ability to waste tax dollars and today is just another example of Republican "fiscal conservative" lies they are always spouting off about. Good riddance to all Republicans. Vote 'em out.

I agree with you about McConnell and I hink it was obscene and he should be voted out.
However the rest of your post is garbage.
BOTH parties engage in the "pork" issue and to accuse one party or the other is nonsense. Democrats have long been know as the biggest spenders.
In the last 5 years the budget deficit as trippled,(that spelled right? its too early to spell) LOL

You are incorrect.

Democrats like to spend on social programs no question, but not so much PORK.

Republicans on the other hand like to PORK everything up. They are unquestionably the PORK KINGS.

Apparently as we see this week, Republicans will continue to retain that title. I mean come on,$178 thousand vs.$3 billion? Dems aren't even in the race for PORK KING title Republicans hold.

Henry, you are right in regards to McConnell getting some pork for his state. However, you need to tell the whole story. In fact the 2.916 billion was inserted by Senator Lamar Alexander from the state of Tennessee. The bill which most doubtless will help McConnell in his campaign for re-election it also helps the states of Tennessee, West Virginia, and Ohio directly. So while you can correctly categorize it as pork, since it didn't go through the normal legislative process, it didn't just aid one state.

I would much rather see my tax dollars going to a project like that than to have that amount of money sent to the states to feed and house brood sows, sperm donors, and their illegitimate off-springs.

Sorry friend , but both parties love piggy. In fact I believe the largest cut of bacon to date was served by the Democratic Speaker Tip O'Neill. Perhaps you've heard of it......The Big Dig in Boston which replaced an elevated highway with a 3.5 mile tunnel and connecting roadways. About 4 miles plus or minus that was finished in 2007. The project was to be completed in 1998 at a cost of 2.8 billion. The final overrun cost was 14.6 billion and by the time it is paid off in 2038 it will cost the taxpayer approximately 22 billion.

So, your awarding a crown for "PORK KINGS" probably wouldn't hold up if you did some research. I say they (Dems and Reps) should share the crown, one taking it on even years and the other taking it on odd years. Of course it would take several years and half a billion in studies to determine which party got the even years and they would have to find another term for "odd" so as not to offend anyone.

They are collectively the most phucked up group of people to ever hold the fate of a nation in their greedy little hands.

no surprise there. I think the GOP has finally shot it self in the head. NEW PARTY needed to balance things in Washington.
