Sure. Shark Bite has a great upper and lower porch. Seagles has a nice covered court yard from which you can observe the festivities. Is it really necessary to cruise the crowd with a beer cup in your hand?
The city has passed an ordnance that allows outside consumption of beer in designated areas with proper permit. This is a family festival and no designated area consumption permits were issued.
Chill.
So if I wanted to go to JP's and buy a 12 pak to enjoy. Will seagals or shark bites let me take it in.
Can you tell me of any festival that is not family freindly every one of them are. When they passed that it was leagal to sit at trollys or seagals outside to drink. That whole thing was brought up because of kingfish tournament when they told BUDWEISER to leave and they did and carried the tournament with them.
the tournament went from 127 boats that year to 86 boats the next then they ran the baitshop off and it fell to 32 boats down to NO boats now.
We even changed zones we fish in now as did alot of boats. We fish the florida tournaments now to have a chance to go to nationals.

thats 127 boats that on average spend 2 grand a weekend just on gas, bait, and ice. Thats is over 254,000 that left St.Marys in 1 weekend not counting motel, food, and beer money lost.

Nobs go ask one of the kingfish guys over there how much it brings in to Fernandina
So I say the hell with st.marys let downtown fall off into river

Ask yourself the question: "If I owned Shark Bite, would I allow someone to carry a 12 pack in that they bought at Mom & Pops and drink it on my front porch?"

We have some "challenged" people in the readership.

Re: the Kingfish Tournament, the SMKT was always a loser. I fished all but three. I still have a fonkie pair of Bolla Sunglasses I won as a door prise back when they had the Captain's Meeting in the Rec building....before it was the Submarine Museum.

I was a Charter Member of the SKA. The St. Marys Tournament was the dregs from day one. Admittedly, a big part of it's downfall was the way the City treated the Tournament Fishermen. One summer, I fished 13 SKA Tournaments. I still have the St. Marys Tournament flags around here somewhere. It was a joke.

It never was nor was it suppose to be like Jax or other major tournaments. Were class A ball here.
The City did have a negative effect. The economy along with fuel prices took a huge toll.
Look at the number of boats fishing the Greater Jax tournament, it's way down.

I'm still a SKA member and fish between 10-12 every year in 2008 or 2009 the SMKT had a larger turn out than the Jacksonville tournament Jax had 102 boats we had 127 it was the largest turnout of boats from N.C. to Daytona that year.
For the other part if I owned Shark Bites no I would not allow it but If I owned Green Cedar or JP's I would ask why are the playing favorites to the Brandons and who ever owns Shark Bites. How about cutting my taxes because they are not alowing me to sell to the festivals downtown and those 2 places can.

When a major sponsor is asked to leave its gonna take it along also
but the jax tournament points are the same to get to nationals.
Payout is better because look at the local companies that put into the pot down there.
Terry Adkins lost aleast 5 boats from around Richmond Hill and waycross/Blackshear because he did not go to city about the baitshop downtown. They called Terry and told him if that happened they would not fish in another Blue Water Prom. tournament

The Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament used to float over a thousand boats. I believe last year it was less than half of that.

Any citizen of St. Marys who can believe that loooapalooza of a lie being told by Bill DeLoughy has sunk to the lowest possible level. Bill DeLoughy needs to go. $45 Million Dollar Bond to repay is impossible. Police Department is going to the County.

St. Marys has thrown huge amounts of money into three non-essential projects during the last few years that could have been removed from our budget.

1-Public Library
2-Aquatic complex
2-Orange Hall

Hard times hard decisions.

I hope you don't mind my saying that you are as full of sh!t as a Christmas turkey.
In any given year, the JAX tournament has had orders of magnitude more entrants than the SMKT.

The 1991 Greater JAX Kingfish Tournament was capped by the USCG at 1000 boats. 1000 fished. Our entry application was lost that year. When we got to the Captain's Meeting, we had no bag.

We got in by agreeing to take the film crew. I have a 90 minute video of the '91 Tournament including an overhead sequence of the shotgun start with all the 1000 boats lined up along JAX Beach. It was total chaos when the start flare was fired from the top of a hotel.

They should hold a kegger in Orange Hall so us common tax payers after recently dropping a cool half million might actually enjoy it.
Sorry but you will have to stick to your Colt 45 purchased from Harveys when it is ON SALE.

I, as a taxpayer here, am not going to fund a kegger for you just so you can see what the other half drinks.

You don't get it. After pissing away nearly a half million bucks during these hard times the people of St. Mary should have the opportunity to enjoy Orange Hall. A formal gathering. TOGA PARTY!!

Don't be sorry other than for your condescending bitch ass. Men down here could care less what the other half drink. I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis. Stick that in the kegger A- hole.
