One of my instructors tipped me of to a good spot for lunch in Brunswick. I tired it today. Two thumbs up.

It's just "Nicks."

It is located on the west side of Glynn Ave.(Hwy 17) a few blocks north of where the Golden Isles Parkway interesects Hwy 17. Look for a simple sign that reads "Nicks" in large red letters. Over the "simple sign" is a 1/3rd scale model of a Black Angus cow.

Buffet, AYCE, for $8.95 ($7.95 for seniors.)

2 meats and about 8 vegetables/starches. They had fried chicken and fried pork chops today. The chicken was very good. Realy enjoyed the cubed rutabagas. Somebody tell Aunt B's they get them delivered already peeled, cubed and ready to cook from U.S. Foods. Good field peas. Plenty of thick bacon pieces in stewed cabbage.

Good tea. Desserts.

Pay before or after you eat. No checks. Honor system.

If all you're looking for is a trough, stick with A B's. You can slop down without paying another $10-15 in gas to get to B'wick. If you just want to drive for a nice lunch, go to Skipper's in Darien. There is an AYCE trough (Pelican Point) in Eulonia East of Exit 58, but you'll be sorry.

I'm up there anyway attending college 3 days a week, you idiots.

And yes, I like my WWW pork chop sandwich without the mustard, au jus with extra onions, and a side order of Greek peppers. Killer.

Rather efficient staff, I might add.

Is Skippers the one in that two story building on the bluff just west of the north end of the bridge?

The old Archies sucks since the Yankees bought it.

Right location but down on the river next to the condos. Not AYCE but a decent lunch eg whole flounder. As I'm already 20 yrs older than Dad, I don't do AYCE.

I haven't been there for lunch, but they do a bang up dinner.

Have they figured out what to do with those condos yet?

VSU. I believe you can do the bulk of it on-line via the on-base campus.

Check with David Keating at JDA . He completed it that way about a year ago, as I recall.

That's Valdosta State University, if you are new to the area.

The PhD who taught most of the MBA/DPA courses at VSU DPA through last semester, Mary Elaenor Wickersham, is now the department head at CCGA.She's using the same curriculum in our bachelor's program as she did in VSU masters program.

Unless you just have your heart set on an MPA, check it out. I'm sure CCGA will be in the masters game before long.

Had excellent fried livers and gizzards at Nicks on Thursday. Gizzards boiled before breading and frying. Still chewy but not jaw breaking. Delicious. The boiled cabbage seasoned with ham scraps was some of the best I've ever eaten.

Had lunch at Missy's in Yulee Friday on my way to Jax. The fried pollock was hot, crispy, and delicious. What I really liked was that she is using pollock "fingers" rather than the way cheaper flat fillets of the very smallest of the pollocks caught. Apparently, they take the larger pollock and cut the "fingers" out at a right angle to the spine. What you get is a cut thick enough to allow you to fry it crispy on the outside but not dry on the inside. If you've had the Friday cod fish special at Cracker Barrel, you know the cut I'm talking about. Great tarter sauce. Senior price, with tax:$8.03.

Oh, and killer, fresh, hot, not burned, hush puppies.

Ate at Nick's today. A bowl of delicious diced rutabagas. About a half-a-plate of perfect cabbage, a quarter plate of perfect field peas, and a perfect, fried, CENTER CUT pork chop. Washed down with good, strong, iced tea.

Cost %7.95 plus tax (senior discount.)$8.95 plus tax for adults, 3 different childrens' prices by age ranges.

Found out they are now open Thursday evenings from 4:30 'til 8:00.

More on night price/menu when I eat there Thursday.

Man, if you are up that way at lunch time, don't miss this place.

Correction: That should have been "Correction" instead of "Corretion".

I got so excited about eating that huge plate full of peas and cabbage that I had another oralgasm. When my eyes rolled back in my head I couldn't see the keyboard or screen and I hit the "post comment" button before I regained my senses.

Damn, that is some good chow. Tomorrow morning should yield a classic Moreno blow out. Thank goodness I have Sarah to clean up behind me.

PS: I told all the FLETC guys that I'm "carrying". It was like they didn't hear me. WTF?
