Everyone watch who's appointed as temporary city manager (at the taxpayer's expense). Wouldn't it be nice if we could all hand out high-paying jobs to our friends?

I heard a rumor that Deloughy is trying to hire a buddy of his. I also heard that this is the reason for the special council meeting next Monday. Watch for them to go into secret session so the public won't know what they are up to until it's a done deal.

First Council wants to hire a mediator (at the taxpayer's expense) and now Osprey has a newly-formed Conciliatory/Consolatory Club for the people out there. I guess that they all gather for 5pm cocktails at someone's house and try to get along and console one another. Look for one of DeLoughy's buddies from Osprey to be offered $10,000+ to fill in as City Manager. Has anyone seen the position advertised as it should be? No.

I wonder how Moreno Jay would perform as our temporary city manager? Could you just imagine that fat ass scooting around city hall barking orders?

The decision of whether to hire a temporary city manager, whether to hire from outside or temporarily appoint from within, when and how to advertise, salary to be offered, and other details should, according to the Georgia Open Meetings Act (Sunshine Law) be debated and decided in open meeting not in executive session. Any vote must be done in public session. Certain personal issues of the candidates MAY be discussed in executive session but many municipalities choose to keep everything public to avoid any perception of favoritism.

If the mayor and council do discuss this in executive session, it will be just another example of the misuse and over use of executive session and will further prove the charges brought before the Grand Jury.

And so they gather
in groups of three
to make decisions
for you and me.
They slither through phonelines
and email their schemes.
They support the lawyer
with their delusional dreams.
They huddle in backrooms
where the light don't shine
Wasting the money
(that's yours and mine).
They whisper and fume,
rage and moan
"Oh why won't these taxpayers
leave us alone!?"

You would think that high priced lawyer would keep that council out of trouble. Of course, he does make more money when things are done wrong. It takes time and money to correct those mistakes. He is at $225,000.00 for nine months and still climbing.

I do not think this has been advertised yet. I am sure it will be because I believe there is a process that it has to go through.

All along the way this council was supposed to "go through" the processes of open government. They haven't before (airport, boathouse, meetings etc.) so why would you think they would start now?

I am not a crook ! Just call may last place of employment. Somewhere down in Florida I don't want to make this to easy for you.

I will continue this spending spree that DeLoughy and Hase has started. I will collect more money out of St. Marys than any City Manager has ever taken.

I will teach you bunch of river rats what real spending is all about. I will raise your taxes again and again just hang on the ride will break you.
