Here are just a few - A FEW - gun shootings and deaths from around last week. There are HUNDREDS more! And this goes on day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year.

Just imagine how much pain and suffering this causes and how many families and lives have been shattered and ruined by needless gun violence. And all for what? Profit by a few gun manufactures.

Bottom line, we've got too lax gun safety laws in this country and too many guns in homes and available on the streets. Contact your elected officials ( www.contactingthecongress.org ) and tell them you support and demand sane, fair, tougher gun safety laws and you want them now.

Ovid Township, Mich.-- A 14-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his 13-year-old sister as he handled a loaded shotgun Saturday afternoon.

Milwaukee, Wis.-- An 18-year-old man was charged yesterday with accidentally shooting a friend to death in the head while playing with a handgun.

Nev.-- A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed and another person was grazed in the head after a drive-by shooting about 2 p.m. Friday.

Woodbury, N.J.-- A detective was wounded when his service weapon accidentally went off in the parking lot of the county superior court building about 1:30 p.m. yesterday.

Bend, Or.-- A 47-year-old man was accidentally shot in the stomach by his 48-year-old wife when a .22-caliber handgun fell out of her pocket and fired when it hit the floor in a restaurant.

Deltona, Fla.-- Two students, ages 16 and 17, were arrested yesterday at their high school after officials found a handgun in the 16-year-old's backpack.

It would take ten pages to list all the auto fatalities.

list all the deaths from fat lazy people typing on the computer all day. This is BS.

I found the post as a confirming reason to keep my guns, and continue teaching my kids how to shoot.
Im would like to thank you for your inspiration to keep guns privatley owned.

In a few of these if the victim had a gun,it would have a different outcome.

7 accidentally did it.

3- were accidents fromlaw enforcement...GODBLESS them.

Bad Parenting-contributed... open more family counceling centers with that OBAMA care.

23- with 3 kids, DAMNNNN.

Read the post. Still Support keeping my guns.
I did not find one valid reason to hand them over. I tried-

Actually, not.

As of 2010, per the Violence Policy Center, ten states now have more annual gun homicides than vehicular deaths. They are: AL AZ CO IN MI NV OR UT VA WA.

Unfortunately, by 2015 this is expected to be the same with all the states. Gun deaths continue to increase year over year, while automobile deaths are down due to a decades-long public health information and education strategy, tougher driver rules and restrictions, and car improvements.

This fact is even more noteworthy if you consider 9 out of 10 households own cars, whereas only 3 out of 10 own a gun.

Might as well as if those are legal cars too. The guy who hit me years ago had expired tags, registration and no license. Anyway, this whole business is sad. Too many people including kids dying everyday by guns. Something needs done nationwide. And that's not more guns like the NRA is promoting. That's crazy talk.

its kind of funny that we make people apply and pass a test to drive a car but no such requirement for owning a gun. are we stupid or what? why don't we? i mean the military and cops train and test and re-qualify their personnel all the time, why not the same for the public gun owner? seems like a no brainer.

You do not need a license to own a car. Just to drive one on public roads.
