Melissa had a chance to show up and say she didn't owe me anything, there is no way she would have been able to convince the judge of that even if she did show up because I have all the receipts and check copies that I gave to her and I had a signed statement from her saying she owes me the money. Now Melissa is hiding out in some trailer park. Last I heard she was living in Foxmeadow off of Vacuna Road in Kingsland. She probably can't get a job. As soon as she does her wages will be garnished because of all the money she owes everyone. She is running out of places to live. She has been evicted in Camden over 3 times. She was evicted in Nassua County almost 9 times. I hope no one plans on using Melissa to do their wedding or never give her any of your stuff to put on consinment. If you are a landlord, don't rent to her. She goes by many names so watch out. She could be Melissa Carter, Melissa Carver, Melissa Boswell, Melissa Douglas, Missy, Missy Dent. If you would like to do some reading here are some interesting sites. They are records of Nassau and Duval County on all the judgements against her. Most are old, but the most recent one is a lien from the IRS in the amount of $9000. I don't think anyone wants to get in business with someone that owes that much money.
When searching for information on Melissa most of it is registered under Melissa Boswell. That we know of that is her real name. That is even the name she used to register on MySpace. I hope this helps everyone (except Melissa of course). People need to see the person she really is.

She was in Regency area. I hired her in early 2009 and have kicked myself since. I'm out more than $700 and just read a Ken Amaro story about another bride-to-be scammed out of $1500! Last week I went to her office and it was locked up and the phone has been disconnected. Who knows where she'll turn up next...I feel for future victims. All I can say is remember to listen to your gut, educate yourself, and don't every underestimate the power and usefulness of Google! I was suspicious a couple of times but wrote it off to wedding jitters or other excuses but in hindsight, I knew better.

I recommend you contact your local Sheriff's office. I believe that there are still open cases against her in Camden County and that she is out on bail. She may be violating the terms of her bail....

As a follow-up...

I certainly can't speak to her past or for her future actions, and although she cost me quite a bit of stress and wasted valuable planning time, once we finally had a serious sit-down meeting with the "this isn't working" convo, she offered a refund and delivered as promised in a very nice way. I was able to recoup ever penny and part ways very amicably.

Just wanted to provide the final update in my roller coaster ride that was my My Occasion experience. Glad to be off this crazy thing...but I can change my name from victim!

Two things:

1. The Melissa Biggins of My Occassion, LLC is NOT the same woman, although there seems to be many common threads in their business practices.

2. Melissa Boswell is cohabitating with a man who received a very large settlement not too long ago. To my knowledge, she neither paid any of her debts nor did anything to better the lives of her two sons that live with their respective fathers because she was deemed by the courts to be unfit to raise them.

If anyone was reimbursed for their losses by Ms. Boswell and/or Mr. Carter, please post here so that we can get a clear and proper image of this wedding mogul.

Melissa was arrested while in the Duval County Courthouse during her divorce hearing today 7-29-09.. Some how the police found out she had 3 Felony warrants for bad checks.
The officer joined her in during her divorce to let her know she was under arrest and where she would be spending the night. Her details are pasted from her arrest record. 

by the way she also owes the irs for 4yrs. in eic taxes for claiming a child that she hasnt had in 6yrs.thats why she dont report her incom,and if jeff marries her and claims her and the baby the irs will garnish his wages as well,so if anybody needs ifno on her or where shes at pleazzzz coment back or catch me at [e-mail],ive got no reason to lie about any of this,i dont gain anything from this,im just giving you people who trust her heads up
