another stupid move by the city that taxpayers will have to pay for....what makes this laughable is the editorial by the tribunes editor telling them that they are visionaries,,what about why cut employee benefits raise rates to pay for another mistake, and the backdoor dealings, if the city is having a hard time moneywise....where are they going to get the money to pay for this,,better yet have you seen the property now its going to ake more than what they payed for it to get it in working order...

They are going to get that money from us as well!!! With all of the bad decisions they are making lately our city is doomed! They should have let it go to someone who could afford the property and fix up without putting our city further in debt. Bad move!

Hey all, do not worry, there is a thread on the Kingsland forum about a dog park(like "DOGWOOD" in Jax)......just think St MArys city council can curry public favor by incorporating a Dog Park with the new Hotel and Convention center.

Do not forget, a traffic light will have to be installed at the end of Osborne. The traffic will be so bad at the waterfront with all the tourist passing the under used B&B's to stay in the New City Owned Hotel "the Ospreyville" of course, traffic, traffic everywhere all going to the dog walk (one new city employee position, Pooper Scooper)and the new welcome center building. While the city is at it since they also moved the air port to the north end of the county (Ospreyville International)there will be a need for an express LEMO service to transport the tourist to this sweet progressive town re-born by the visionaries of the 2010 City Councils gang of four.

We need a council and Mayor that will bring manufacturing business to the city and county. Part of the problem we have in America is most of the companies in business are service industry. That's great if you are going to go on vacation but horrible if you are the clerk with three kids and getting paid $7.00 an hour.

Large profits for the already wealthy allowing the middle class to continue to fall behind. We are not in a capitalist society but a Greed society.

Well, well, reality hits home. Let me tell you what has driven manufacturing jobs OUT OF the US........unions, dumb management(no spines, no guts) and the IRS. Unsure of what your back ground is, how old you are or how much water you've seen go "under the bridge"?Having a background in machine tools opens ones eyes to the in and out of manufacturing, no lathe, no milling machine=1776. Much of todays problem began back in the 60's-70's when unions had most of manufacturing by the short hairs, strikes, intimidation of non union workers, oh, not unlike ACORN today, management just gave in and let the unions have their way. In plain english, management did not just tell them to stick it. Stock holders, BOD's and wall street could not take it, just threw in the towel. I remember passing by a storage field outside of Peroia, Ill in about 1979, there was "Cat" equipment as far as I could see in 5 or 6 rows. During discussons with some management types, I learned that Cat was paying millions of dollars of taxes on equipment that was not sold.I asked why? Was told they were taxed on "Completed Equipment".Told they tried not "completing the equipment" by leaving off the wheels or other small components but the IRS changed the regulations to "substantial completion", so what the heck. Back then they were selling 1000's of units a quarter. This is just the tip of the iceburg of what is wrong. Until such a time that business in general can operate without the draconian IRS regulations, ther is no hope.
