Jay please tell me how I was tricked on my ballot:
I gave you the numbers of what was on ballot and I' asking you where was I wrong.
11 million was to go to bond dept
4,327,918- infructure
2,503,397- equipment

SO will you explain to a dumb redneck how 1.5 millions times 3 = 11,000,000 I know you have all the above IQ then the rest of us.
but just remember a high IQ is alot if times means no commom sense

So what you are thinking is Bill will run for Howell's seat because we know he will not get out of all of it.
I dont think chuck will run if bill wants to keep mayor's seat. I dont think he will run against Post

Tommy I'll bet that if you will contact the probate court or the election board - probably the probate court - they will be happy to send you a copy of the ballot s that you can see what it actually said.

Tommy, don't let the word shyster Moreno screw with you.

St. Marys City Manager
Steve Crowell said the lion’s
share of the city’s SPLOST
VII funds, if renewed, will go
toward paying down the city’s
water and sewer debt.
Crowell said an estimated
12.1 percent of SPLOST is
collected from people who
live outside Camden County.
Based on estimates of
SPLOST collections, this
would equal a property tax
millage of five to nine mills,
he said.
The previous SPLOST
was used for roads and sidewalks,
drainage projects, city
facilities and water/sewer improvements.
SPLOST VII would earmark
62 percent of revenues,
or approximately $11 million,
toward paying down the city’s
debt on a general obligation
bond it used to expand its
water/sewer capacity several
years ago.
The city also has included
$4.3 million in infrastructure
improvements and $2.5 million
in heavy equipment replacement
in the SPLOST
VII project list that voters will
consider next month.

Interesting.

I' call Crowell Monday and ask him a few pointed questions.

If that was what was on the ballot and the council is now diverting funds before the first dollars have even been collected and disbursed, then we should all be all over their asses.

However, be aware that the law allows SPLOST funds to be used to pay the debt service on ANY past capital improvement, so long as it is included in the wish list submitted to the county and approved by the county commissioners. It is possible that the $11 million figure is a composite of ALL the past capital projects the council intends to partially or fully pay off with SPLOST VII funds.

Stay tuned.

Moreno says,
"$11 million figure is a composite of ALL the past capital projects the council intends to partially or fully pay off with SPLOST VII funds."

Once Again;

St. Marys City Manager
Steve Crowell says;

"SPLOST VII would earmark
62 percent of revenues,
or approximately $11 million,
toward paying down the city’s
debt on a general obligation
bond it used to expand its

Don't expect much reading comprehension from Moreno.

Jay, I gave you what was on ballot now with your high IQ please explain to a person with a lower IQ how does 1.5 X 3= 11

Ill put it this way at the end of SPLOST VII we will still have around the same balance on that bond as we do now

This is an interesting thread. Why not try to determine the TRUE nature of the scam being run on taxpayers by the tax increase? The balance will most likely be the same, as Tommy stated.

Just how "old" are the debts for the water/sewer improvements, etc? I recall that the sidewalk on Point Peter was supposedly paid for by SPLOST during Eskridge's first term. What are the specific projects for which there are outstanding indebtedness...does anyone know? In other words, what's happened to the money?
