I think we all should chain ourselves to the house before demo begins and shout that we want the 3 inch tounge-and-groove, the marble, and all the other trimmings in the house since it is ours.

They are already gutting the house. Not sure who is getting the materials. Should they try to sell some of that stuff?

Good question. There was a commercial-grade kitchen that they've already dismantled (for no reason and despite the protests of the building's owners (us). Yeah, it's a good question but your chance of ever having it answered is slim to none.

I do not want to forget this one. Who got the interior furnishings? Why was the city so anxious to buy this?

Let's cut to the chase. The truth of the matter is the city council did not want Calvin Lang to have the property for fear he would construct another building that looks like his shrimp processing building, office, marina buildings, or restaurant. They wanted something nicer so badly that they were willing to chill the bid and pull other shady tricks to obtain the property.

Now we are stuck with it because no one in their right mind would risk millions of dollars to partner with this bunch of idiots running the city.

Interior furnishings? Peanuts...

We of the evening cocktail social club (real estate cartel members) have never wavered from our original plan.

We have successfully poured hundreds of thousands of dollars of Splost funds into Orange Hall. Our attention will soon turn to the Gilman property once splost is renewed.(and you know what will happen if you don't renew it... triple water rates. Ha-Ha )

A first class gathering hall for evening cocktails while the sun sets is whats required.

We will call it a Welcome/Convention center.

When will it sink in that idiots are in charge? That they are incompetent to run the business of the City or any business. You get what you reap. The Mayor is a total and complete fool supported by a majority of fool supporters. The Boat House rotten deal is just an example of the mismanagement. The dumb ass Mayor has caused a lot of resentment against Osprey Cove. Not to even begin to speak about the problems for the citizens. This is the fool that wants to subject the City to all sorts of expense to move the airport to Woodbine after a staw vote to not incur any expense to taxpayers while incuring the expense. That damn Sea Island vodka has bought those developers a tin horn politician.

I love the Boat House property. My dog can run loose and crap all over the place and I don't have to put up wsith any crowd. It is a great dog poop park. Thank you Mayor and asses supporting Mayor on behalf of all the mutts. Where else do you have million plus piece of waterfront for dogs to crap on.? We are a first.

The stupidity of the voters here combined with the stupidity of the politicos / Inner Circle types makes me GLAD that y'all lost the Gilman Mill. As a group you are too damn stupid to figure out how to grow your economy, nor enhance the quality of your lives in this beautiful little city.

Success or prosperity is something that the idiots in this town will never keep as you as a group are too ignorant to know how to manage.

I have lived here for over 5 years now and have learned the hard way, through trial and LOSS, not to do business in Camden County.

Doing it half assed as a practice keeps you stuck in the mud. And apparently that is where you want to stay.

You are one of this fools that is opposed to the best Osprey Cove can provide. You are making it look like the dumb ass mayor and his dumb ass supporters are fools. That is not nice. People like you that give a shi* are a problem for the current administration. You point out all the waste and foolish ventures. I know it would be a big time task, but you could try and find some thing they have done right. I can't give you any help, but the has to some thing other than waste, corruption, etc.

No, I am TOTALLY FOR Osprey Cove and Cumberland Harbour. And other developments that bring intelligent, educated, wealthy tax payers to this city. They demand a higher standard. And if they can not get it from businesses here then they are happy to live here and send their other business outside of the county.

When I need something done to my house, I hire from people I know AND TRUST in Nassau or Glynn County.

When I get a car repaired, it goes to the dealership in Jacksonville. Not to the local Camden smucks who can't read an electrical diagram or put all the parts back on when they are finished.

When I want to eat in a nice LOCAL restaurant we go to Fernandina or St Simons. With the exception being Langs Seafood. We love that place.

If people in Camden want to grow and have a better life, then they need to focus on their own personal growth and doing the best job they can in serving their clients.

But your current status quo is a ROAD TO NOWHERE.

So why, why, why do you live here? You could have lived on St Simons or Amelia Island and be so much closer to the "better things of life". Why did you move here?

Osprey Cove and Cumberland Harbor most certainly did not bring "intelligent, educated, wealthy tax payers to this city." If they were so smart and rich, they would have looked around and seen that this area does not have the amentities that they wanted in the first place. Why would anyone move to a place and then have to go elsewhere to get car repairs, eat out or shop? They just thought they could show off their "wealth" to the rednecks around here and when they got bored playing golf they would show the rednecks how to really run a city..........right into the ground....and make sure the taxes got as high as where they came from. Ah, there's no place like home.

"So why, why, why do you live here? You could have lived on St Simons or Amelia Island and be so much closer to the "better things of life". Why did you move here?"

Because we had NO IDEA that "Green Acres" actually existed. We did not realize that this kind of buffoonery was actually possible.

I mean come on. You guys ran your own Silver Star Steakhouse out of business because a national chain opened up a steakhouse by I-95. And now you whine about no business in St Marys. You do it to yourselves.

Don't be foolish. We would be held directly responsible if we pissed away that kind of property tax money on Orange Hall. We would never get reelected!! Thank God for Splost.

Huh? You say when you want to eat at a nice LOCAL restaurant you go to Fernandina or St Simons. So, it is the local people ONLY who are responsible for businesses going out of business? Not also others who have moved here who take their business elsewhere like Jacksonville, Nassau county or Glynn county? I'm just not sure how we did it to ourselves when you just stated above that you go out of the county for everything except for Langs. Just not sure who the baffoons are. The baffoons who moved here and didn't do due diligence or the baffoons who are from here. Kind of like Green Acres - who was really the baffoon in that show?

That Ed Dawson character for one. He could have dropped his pitch fork and picked up a shovel by one of the boilers in a heart beat.
