When you think it can't get any whacker St. Marys proves otherwise.

This is past incredible. My neighbor gave me a copy of Roger Weagers proposal for a Maritime Heritage District. Now I know Roger has little to do but this is a complete waste of time.

On page 7&8 there is a proposal for "accommdations horses, mules, and donkeys that pull the carriages". We are to have drawn carriages. Okay I can go along with that. We already have the accommodations for the jack asses to pull the carts. That would be City Hall and the jack ass council members with the head jack ass mayor.

It gets even better. Weaver proposes that the DNR give enforcement over the marsh area and waterways that DNR is over. Just imagine who the City would have enforcing that. Just a minor problem. That would be the Constitution and State regulations. No biggy for Weaver and bosses.

Next they want city owned marina. But it gets even better. They want a, get this, "creation of a complimentary hotel on the Batlett street property owned by the City." Yes it is actual a proposal that it be "complimentary" a hotel. Some said they must be smoking the same thing Chip Drury was smoking.

You can't make this stuff up. No damn wonder St. Marys is dying on the vine. Idiots and their dumb ass minions are operating on our tax dollars with out restraint.

Maybe they are thinking like Fernandina which has a city owned Marina with a hotel near by that complements the area. Not a complimentary nights stay. But the city government should govern not be a developer.

I haven't seen the proposal, but is there any mention of sporting houses? Back when the St. Marys waterfront was thriving, half the business establishments were brothels. If you want to attract tourists and seperate them from their money, you've got to offer them some entertainment in return.

City of Fernandina had to lease out the marina because they couldn't operate it. I agree. License and regulate. Not participate in private ventures. Boat House is a great example of the business sense of the Council. You quill the bid on a person with a plan to buy a piece of property with no plan and take it off the tax digest.

The City of Fernandina leased the facility out thinking they could do better under private management. They were mistaken, as the city still pays the employees salaries and benefits, is paying for the dredging ongoing at this time, and ended up paying the current operators a guaranteed income to do what was being done when they had their own management in place. Nice deal for the operator. They haven't saved a dime but have paid more to have what they already had. Bottom line, St. Mary's definitely has no business getting into a city marina. They will only screw it up and leave you, the taxpayer holding the bag.

Come on now; it will help attract a potential developer to the water front and my passion for the boat is enough to attract the best boats ever.

When I was a kid, you could sell damned nearly all the chicken and shrimp you could fry and pecan logs you could roll to Yankees on Hwy 17. Oh, and bags of pecans with fresh ones on top and old ones in the bottom of the bag. That was a Camden specialty.

The Alligator Farm and Marine Land were major attractions. Hell, Yankees would even drop bucks at stinky Chico's Monkey Farm.

The Chief Magistrate was available 2/47 to officially lighten the wallets of Yankee speed trap victims.

I'm sure the G.O.B.s yearn for those good ol' days.

Show me a marina that is free, Einstein.

And, I'm glad you're so powerful that you can singlehandedly prevent all of this from happening. While you're at it, can you do something about the sand gnats and mosquitoes?

I agree with you nobs Fernandina's is a nice one to. Let us charge the same rate as they do for the upkeep 8.00 per hour to tie up your dingy.
That way around Thanksgiving the city will break even on the rest of the year say 50 dingys 4 hours will be 200 hour at 8 bucks we should get close to breaking even

Fernandina's has a silt problem. At times in the past some areas were not usable.

I think we should turn the Boathouse property into Asian Nuru Message centers and if you get a happy ending the city should get 50% of the revenue from happy ending massages.

I will be the first customer since I am so passionate about the boathouse property. I want to show my passion with a happy ending.

This Maritime Heritage District is nothing more than an attempt to justify the building of a Welcome Facility on the Gilman boat house property.

Evening cocktails for the elite payed by tax funds has always been their master plan.

I have been here for over 50 years and the only 2 brothels that CCSO,KPD,and GBI has closed from you visiting was the old building by wal-mart and the place in Winn Dixie shopping center.

By looking at some of them the last time I was downtown they would have to pay for it if they got any

Damn, we're busted. It's just that the cove is so far from downtown. Our eventual plan is to gentrify the downtown area and make it a gated community.
