We had received several 911 calls from Mr. Julian Moreno concerning a white Ford Econoline window van occupied by two "scuzzy" white men, druggie types, casing out his neighborhood. During the most recent call from Mr. Moreno, he assured us that the van was still in his subdivision.

We cordoned off the area out to St. Marys Road and stopped all traffic. We put officers out in riot gear on foot and compressed the perimeter. As we were approaching Victorias Circle, we spotted the white window van with two scuzzy suspects inside. With AR-15s on ready, 16 officers of the St. Marys PD SWAT team overcame the van and extracted the scuzzy suspects.

After reading the suspects their rights and transporting them to the interrogation complex, the two gentlemen convinced us that their coon hound had gone missing from an overnight coon hunt in the wooded area between St. Marys and Kings Bay Roads.

A friend of theirs who lives on Victorias Circle had called them after having spotted the dog roaming the neighborhood. The scuzzy suspects were merely looking for their dog.

After telling the "hunters" that it was illegal to discharge a weapon inside city limits, the gentlemen produced an ingenious device on the end of a pole that they use for snaring the coon and yanking him out of the tree.

The men were then released with our sincere apologies.

Mr. Moreno can sleep well tonight.
