These numbers are impressive!

"Another blow to the Republican myth that America is a conservative nation was delivered when over six times more people watched the Obama/Clinton 60 Minutes interview than watch Fox News.

According to Nielson, the Obama/Clinton joint interview was watched by 11.65 million Americans. On average 1.6-2 million people in the United States watch Fox News each day. In a non-election year the political audience is smaller across the board, and there is a huge difference between broadcast and cable television ratings, but the belief that is held by both the mainstream media and the Republicans that there is some huge outcry for conservative programming is flat out wrong.

The ratings for the Clinton/Obama interview are both a tribute to the star power of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and a reminder that there really is no one in the conservative movement who can match the country’s top Democrats in terms of the ability to draw an audience."

Say what you will, but Democrats are indeed ruling the universe. Which, as a Democrat, I'd say bodes well for the country's future. The entire article can be read here: http://www.politicususa.com/times-people-tune...

During Lincoln-Douglas debates, U.S. Senator Stephen Douglas (D-IL) states:“I do not regard the Negro as my equal, and positively deny that he is my brother, or any kin to me whatever”; Douglas became Democratic Party’s 1860 presidential nominee.

Maybe the reason people watched was they wanted to see what lies would be told. I wish I had a Demoncrat filter on my TV so I didn't have to hit mute everytime they are on.

So finish the story Upchuck...

Thus the nation considered both Lincoln's and Douglas' positions, and selected Lincoln over the message of hate and inequality.

Very much like the nation has done the last two elections where we witnessed the Republican Teapublican Party carry only one part of the electorate, the old white guy vote. They lost and lost ground in all others categories (i.e., women, black, immigrant, and youth).

Selling hate and inequality was a losing position in the 1860's and it still is. Long live and prosper the Democratic Party.
