As long as they have a charge and evidence of this murder. They will hold them until then. When there is no bond available. This is a serious crime he may have committed. There has to be an attorney that will defend him. This is a law of the USA.
Murder is a serious crime. Stealing a car is but not as high.

Dave, you should be ashame to not show any respect for Dr. Chua. Innocent until proven guilty. Stephen Kelly the DA is going to lose his job over this. You just wait and see.

Anonymous: You are speaking like a family member and my heart goes out to you for your loss, but Chua has a right to bail and a fair trial, not slung around by the so called DA and the woman judge Amanda. They need to get off their high horse and, start reading the case and do their job, not do what Jaime's family is instrucing them to do. They are lookng for votes....well it will be a cold day in hell before I would vote for DA kelly or Judge Williams or Tuten Toot Toot either.

Missed the story. What was the evidence it was murder and why do you think the DA is wrong to
deney bail, if there is evidence?

From the evidence I have seen, and I have seen the evidence first hand. Chua is guilty!!!! No Jamie was NOT perfect, but "he who is without sin cast the first stone". But no matter what the courts here say, whether he (Chua) is granted bond or denied bond, whether he is found "GUILTY" or not guilty there is one court appointment and one Judge that will NOT be persuaded or swayed by Chua's friends. Chua will face his "Judgement Day" when he comes face to face with MY Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. That will be his "Judgement Day" and at that point he will bow and he (Chua) will receive his "Justice". I am praying for "JUSTICE FOR JAMIE"!!!!! I am praying for the Judge and the DA in this case that they will seek the truth, view the evidence and make the right decision. I pray that they will NOT be persuaded by these supporters.

Somethings fishy. Dr. Chua's roomate dies of an overdose on persciption drugs? Sounds pretty plausable, or he could be being set up. I don't know all the details but something is off. On another note. If the DA gives him bail because of a petition, then how long do you think it will be before the child molesters and rapists band together to help free one of thier own? Let the system do its work.

So what? Let him hire a lawyer that can create a defense for him while he is behind bars.

Duh...Joe....they took all his assets and he cannot hire an attorney of his choice. he would have to accept some appointed defense attorney, which would be controlled by the DA, and judges.

Looks like the county judicial syste and the carters are trying to confiscate Dr. Chua's hard earned assets.

Unfortunately, the evidence can't be discussed, but trust me when I say that all tests that were run and the investigation that was done was all very thorough and was carefully obtained. If the evidence did not merit Chua being behind bars, then he would be free. It definitely helps to have the whole picture before making judgement. Not directed at you but to all the "supporters". There are always two sides to every story.

there have been inmates who were set free for being unjustly prosecuted due to bungled evidence. so "innocent until proven guilty," ok?

always 2 sides, yes. one side -- those who use others for self-promotion and professional advantage; the other side -- the ones who are used

lesson: never ever let drug addicts in your home9

Where are you getting your facts? How do you know this was the case? Unless you are close enough to the situation, which I am, to know the whole truth and nothing but the truth, you need to keep your opinions to yourself!
