Factual events such as these are why no sane American will vote for a Republican president again. Thanks goodness.

"WASHINGTON (AP) Ten years and $60 billion in American taxpayer funds later, Iraq is still so unstable and broken that even its leaders question whether U.S. efforts to rebuild the war-torn nation were worth the cost.

Shortly after the March 2003 invasion, Congress set up a $2.4 billion fund to help ease the sting of war for Iraqis. It aimed to rebuild Iraq's water and electricity systems; provide food, health care and governance for its people; and take care of those who were forced from their homes in the fighting.

Fewer than six months later, President George W. Bush asked for $20 billion more to further stabilize Iraq and help turn it into an ally that could gain economic independence and reap global investments.

To date, the U.S. has spent more than $60 billion in reconstruction grants to help Iraq get back on its feet after the country that has been broken by more than two decades of war, sanctions and dictatorship. That works out to about $15 million a day.

The abysmal Iraq results forecast what could happen in Afghanistan, where U.S. taxpayers have so far spent $90 billion in reconstruction projects during a 12-year military campaign that, for the most part, ends in 2014."

Thanks George Bush and Dickhead Cheney! Thanks for killing and wounding a lot of Americans and draining our Treasury. Seems like you were working for Al Qaeda and Halliburton all along. We won't be fooled again. No more Republicans EVER!

You are incorrect about why the Republican party will have trouble winning another election.
It is because the Democratic party base are the non-producers in the nation. They are the ones with the power now and are the base of the Democratic party.
Those on welfare, the unemployed, all government workers (who don't know what a honest days work is) and union members .As the old saying goes "if you can't make it in the private sector get a government job or a union job".
The non-producers are in power now and they will stay there. Their ranks will increase too as they are becoming aware that they will be supported by the US Treasury thus they have no incentive to work.
Simple as that.

with republican and teapublican brains operating in their own reality world like this one and the preceding one, democrats will indeed rule the day for the foreseeable future which is good for america because one republican president (bush/cheney) was more than enough for one lifetime.

Today, a vote for the republican party is a vote for fascism. Plain and simple, while corporations are raking in record profits and not hiring here in the good ole U.S.of A., the continuation of china-tizing 'mainstreet' continues. It doesn't matter who is president, except maybe for some political football. It is all being done by the corporate fascist monopolizers who have convinced the misinformed that capitalism endorses greed. That even Jesus, endorses greed.
If you have doubts, then ask yourself;"Why did the republican congress pass law that requires the United Postal Service to have to provide retirement compensation seventy five years into the future for people it hasn't even hired or have yet to be born!?(No other business in the world is required to do this!) To make it go defunct, that's why. To privatize All 'the commons'. When this is done the patriotic American peasant will be enslaved by the fascists which are the corporations who own the politician puppets who pretend to represent you(constituents or us the people).

Just ask dr. oz what his opinion is on Lipozene!
You most likely will not find anyone on "mainstream" television to give you an honest opinion because the Lipozene corporation is a huge advertisement money maker for the network. So, forget about public health. And, of course we could insert the fact that they will not name that fast food restaurant that is bad for your health or that brand of potato chip... and on and on and on...alcohol etc...

As I read these blogs, with some exceptions, I realize there has been a dumbing down of America class and I missed it.I've never read such uninformed garbage in my life.

That would be because of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Shana Hannity, Billo Reilly, etc., etc. and the others who broadcast for those living in an alternate reality world.

The rest of us who live in the real world and don't watch or listen to the propaganda are doing fine.

This is a serious question I would like for the left wingers here on the forum to answer. Rightys can answer also if they choose.

Why does communist governments not suceed like capitalist system, ie: USSR vs USA?

I have to leave for about 6-7 hours but will be back to see what your thoughts are.

As an American I do not care for communism. I do,however, become concerned when capitalism becomes monopoly-ism which then becomes fascism as defined as;"9) corporative organization of the economy that suppresses trade union liberty, broadens the sphere of state intervention, and seeks to achieve, by principles of technocracy and solidarity, the collaboration of the 'productive sectors' under control of the regime, to achieve its goals of power, yet preserving private property and class divisions;" -as defined by Emilio Gentile corporate fascists hero.
