Unless we purge county governance at all levels of native G.O.B., Luddite, xenophobes, it may well be.

We have got to pull out all of the stops to get more jobs of ANY KIND here in Camden. And yes, all citizens have to be willing to INVEST in the effort, both at the polls and at tax time.

I recall when Durango told the G.O.B they were shutting down. The mobilization of the local politicians along with the chamber of commerce was a sight to behold. We will go to Washington, we will fight you in court, we will buy you out they exclaimed.

After pissing away a lot of tax payer money, time and effort the corporate Durango layers shut down as promised just like the other hundreds of Mill towns. Not one of these fools saw that coming. All those false hopes and dreams right down the toilet.

Face the facts people those days are over. Instead of spending our resources on pipe dream expansion ideas we need to take a step back and look at downsizing. Nothing wrong with small-town living.

We are blessed with the Sub Base and Interstate 95. If it wasn't for the two we would be another Darien.

I agree with what you are saying except you think all locals are scum. There are some, I agree but I am not one and I am here to stay.

I hate to admit it, but Darien is in much better fiscal shape than St. Marys.

Even though the Gilman mill is gone, there's still a mill in Brunswick, and two in Fernandina. Pulpwood stumpage prices are pretty good around these parts, compared to some parts of the country.

There are some jobs around, but you might have to drive to Brunswick or Jacksonville. Lot's of folks work at the Port of Brunswick. Overall, things aren't too bad for Camden County, relatively low taxes, a decent school system, reasonably low crime rate.

St. Marys has some serious problems, mostly self-inflicted, but that hardly means the whole county is doomed.

Unlike Camden, McIntosh County has a large drug operation that supplies the County with lots of Cash.
Those GOB's have been importing and exporting drugs for years. I do not want to be anything like them.

We already are. Witness the unprosecuted St Marys Marijuana Grow House Cases. The public will never know why.

It was true last year. It is also true that the physical locations of the market and trading houses will remain unchanged. Just how will this paper shuffle change Georgia "forever"?

Intercontinental Exchange, better known as ICE. Not really a hedge fund, but here's a puff piece from the NYT.

Kinda sorta doubtful there will be much impact in Camden Co. Mostly the big data centers in Alpharetta and Sandy Springs.
