Its ok people we have to understand that "Vet" and "Anon" are idiotic gun grabbers. They post here every couple of days trying to play on peoples sympathy for dying children but always fail to answer the question about abortion. Vet and Anon need to grow up.

Guns are inanimate objects and cannot kill unless there is a person involved in its use..
Maybe we should outlaw cars too as they kill more people than guns do...
GUNS DO NOT KILL... THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF KILLING AS THEY ARE INANIMATE OBJECTS.

Ok, several posters have said it before, but I'll give it another whack.

Guns and abortion are two completely UNRELATED subjects.

So are guns and beer. And guns and cars. And guns and cigarettes. Etc.

They are all the proverbial apples and oranges and cannot be compared.

Sure, I have my views on beer, cars, cigarettes and abortion, or women's choice if you will, but they do not relate to guns, gun control, gun regulations, gun restrictions, etc. Again, it's apples and oranges.

Now if someone wants to start an abortion thread, or a beer thread, etc., have at it. Maybe I'll contribute, maybe not. At the moment, I'm lobbying in numerous forums, on the phone and by mail, for our great country to enact some logical, practical, REAL gun control.

If you've not noticed, the current gun situation in the country is out of hand and not sustainable. Maybe it was in the days of black powder, but today we've got .223 round traveling at roughly 2,800+FPS with enough energy to do incredible damage at short range. Add your high-capacity magazine and we've basically got a WMD. And I don't like WMDs around my family & friends.

Am I worried about trampling 2nd Amendment rights? No, not at all. I'm confident the rights of those killed intentionally and accidentally by guns are the ones with rights being trampled. And like someone said, that line is old, real old. Penned well before the current WMDs could have ever been imaged. I'm confident the founders did not mean how it's taken today. Hopefully, the SCOTUS will agree with a new interpretation in the not too distant future.

WMD's are you serious? As someone that works on them for a living it is stupid to read your rants. Gun control has never been the issue, punishing those that commit crimes will always be the issue. Its becuase of tree huggin idiots like you that think that everyone else is to blame. Instead of spending all this time lobbying for stupidity open your eyes and realize that the tools are not responsible, the PEOPLE are.

Vet, what makes a semi auto 223 a "WMD"? I'd much rather face an idiot with a 223 than a hunter with a 308. Do you even know anything about guns? Or are you just repeating the garbage you hear from politicians?

The 2nd amendment was put in place knowing it would be our last line of defense from an out of control government.
Well.... the government has never been more out of control. And it would make since that that out of control government would want to separate us from our weapons. The founders knew we wouldn't need them until they tried to take them away.

Also you made the point to say that the framers of the constitution could not have imagined the kind of weapons we'd have 250 years later. Well that's right, so they used the words "arms" instead of musket or blunderbuss. If you take into account the purpous of the 2nd amendment. It's probable the founders would want us to have the same weapons available as the government goons that break into our house at 3 am and shove AR15s into the faces of our wife and kids.
So I hope you know what you're saying when you say you don't care about someones 2nd amendment right. It's likely you'd have no other rights without it.

"Shall not be infringed" Think hard about it.

I suspect law enforcement as well as Family Services would take an immediate interest in your leaving loaded weapons around children. It well could be classified as child endangerment and result in loss of both. If your children have others over for play or study, I hoped you've informed their parents of your dangerous practices. You are living in a fantasy world if you believe kids don't touch weapons.

My son is 16 he has a REMINGTON.270 and a remington 1100 also in his room.
My daughter is 19 she has a 22/250 and a .243 she only likes to steel hunt.
I would suspect that either would tell child service to kiss their dads butt. Both knows how to shoot, how to break their guns down.My daughter stays off campus at UGA because they dont want guns there.
1 nite her and 2 of her friends went out up there and if it was not for her gun 2 guys followed them and tried to force their way in and she held both at gun point til police got there. The same 2 guys were wanted on 2 different sex cases.
So I'm proud that she knew how to use 1 and Athens PD did not say a word about it.
Her 2 friends parents were proud of her as well as soon as she is 21 she will have a cwp to carry a pistol of her choice

We knew/know our our kids friends and did our best to raise them right.
I would wish no person ever got hurt but thats a wish thats crazy ,we all know that.
Yet if my daughter had not been armed in that house I feel that their life would have changed real bad or ended that nite.
Honest I hate to see kids getting hurt or killed but why take away from everyone because of a few idiots.
Who would of been there to help them that nite.

Because I have/own firearms, that makes them bad? That makes me a 'bad guy'?

Vet, you say you don't care about trampling on and denying ALL of our 2nd Amendment rights, what are you gonna say/do when the rest of the Bill of Rights become denyed/abandoned?

Removing everyones right is NOT the answer.
