Why is Osprey Cove so despised throughout St. Marys. Because Osprey Cove has given the city such poor leaders. We have the mayor from here who is not a people person. He is confused about his role as mayor. All the people of St. Marys want to be heard and yet he is uncomfortable around most people. Chuck Trader holds himself out to be a financial wizard but his prowess as such has not been demonstrated as of yet. Raising all of our water rates was the easiest solution to the problem. Chuck said that was the only way and yet that is clearly not the case. The city attorney says this is a general obligation bond and not a true water sewer bond as Chuck has led us to believe. That means the city can solve that problem through our General Fund as well as our Enterprise Fund. Much more options are available than raising our water rates. That should have been a last resort not first. Chucks connection to the real estate agenda is obvious with the purchase of the waterfront property. Our city government should not be in land speculation to help our buddies sell real estate. The city should have a clear vision and a need when it purchases property. Tax dollars are at stake and should be spent wisely.

Cities across America are trying to build a better mousetrap to lure in big businesses. All of them except St. Marys would see an airport as a valuable tool to have. But our three elected officials from Osprey Cove see little to no value in our own airport. No wonder the rest of the community is upset with us. And to add insult to injury we offer up another real estate person, Nancy Stasinis, who seems to want to punish people for speaking up because it interferes with her selling of real estate to our visitors. All communities have problems, Nancy, trying to cover them up so you can sell real estate instead of solving our problems looks bad on Osprey Cove. John Morrissey is another disappointment for Osprey Cove. He made friends with a watchdog group then betrayed them after he was elected. If Osprey Cove wants to regain our place in the community we must vote for the best candidate regardless of where that candidate lives. This is not a football game where you can be a diehard fan. This is city politics and we need representatives to represent us all.

That is why I voted for Greg Bird. He stands up for all the people and he has the track record to prove it. He will speak his mind and change it when proven wrong. I voted for Bob Nutter because he has participated in our council meetings the last few years, not like Nancy who has only gone to a couple after she qualified. I voted for Jeremy Spencer because of his youth. He is a teacher and has much to learn but he is much more teachable than his seventy something year old oppent, Jim Gant. Jim is nice enough but we need younger voices on council too.

If we want to change our image here in Osprey, then let us show this Other parts of our community we care about them too. Let us help them vote in their candidates that live in their neighborhoods. We have two who live here now that will remain on council.

The above lying, cowardly, class warrior no more lives in Osprey Cove than cows can fly or Burd owes no taxes.

The statement that the water/sewer bond is a general obligation bond is also a lie. It is an obligation of the water/sewer enterprise fund.

Just remember that anything you read in suport of the Unholy Alliance slate is almost certainly a lie. That is obviously the path they have chosen.

You better play nice with the Unholy Alliance if you want additional time with your hero Charlie Smith. They are the ones who will decide if you receive your desire to serve on the DDA.

That bunch has given Osprey a black eye. Worst possible leadership. Now you have Charlie claiming he has Osprey on board. That may be so but I just don't see that. One would hope the folks in Osprey Cove think for themselves. I certainly believe that.

Jay, for a self proclaimed smart man, you can certainly come off as dumb. Why don't you call the city manager and ask him if the bond is a general obligation or revenue bond. The city attorney calls it a general obligation bond. Even your boy Chuck calls it a hybrid bond. You are wrong on this one. Check your facts. If you say you already know the facts then you are misinformed. Humm imagine that.

The city council is not the only place where Osprey Cove is getting a bad rap. Frank Fraska, chairman of the Hospital Authority, turned Councilman Bird down on a senior citizens project Bird presented to the Authority. Now Fraska is going after Bird's tenant at the airport. Fraska is also on the Airport Authority. Fraska wants to charge Bird's customers for parking. Next Fraska will be asking the city to charge boaters with that same regressive fees for boat launching and trailer parking. Look for Fraska and other Osprey Cove board members to try to bring back parking meters for downtown street parking. What a bunch of money grabbing self serving buffoons leading us to failure. Everyone will leave St. Marys if we don't get better leadership out of Osprey Cove. Why should they sit on 90 percent of our Boards and Authorities. They give us Trader and Stasinis as candidates. I hope most in Osprey realize that if you vote them in you are just reinforcing bad politics.

Osprey Cove pushed the Homestead exemption onto everyone in order to reduce their taxs. And in effect they transfered the tax burden onto all the young navy families in the lakes and else where because they were not eligiable for homestead exemption. It was a transfer of wealth fron navy folks to the osprey folks.

How can Osprey cove have school buses come down their streets if the streets are considered private? It is time to tell Osprey Cove what the real deal will be when Bird Nutter Spencer take their seats. Osprey is done and so is Charlie Smith and his clowns.

You are trying real hard to get those Osprey votes for your candidates aren't you, Charlie?

This is BS. There is no limit as to how low you will stoop.

TAD was bad. So are Charlie's candidates.

We need open and honest city government. We need fiscal conservatives in office for a change. We need Greg Bird, Bob Nutter, and Jeremy Spencer on our city council.

Is that the navy families that declare residency in their home state? The same ones that drive around in cars with out of state tags?

No. These navy people have to pay their state income taxes which is normaly double of Georgia and then they get to pay all these special sales taxes while residing here. They receive Ga. plates but are tax exempt.
