Here are A FEW gun shootings and deaths from just 4 days last week. There are HUNDREDS more. This goes on day after day after day.

We did get some good, strong gun legislation out of Colorado last week. Several states are working on mandatory gun insurance legislation. I think we'll see federal legislation ending private gun sales shortly along with meaningful background and mental health checks. Then restore the assault rifle ban and magazine restrictions!

Chicago, Ill.-- An 18-year-old woman who was visiting friends and family was fatally shot in the head while on her way to a store.

Decatur, Ohio -- A 9-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the head with a handgun yesterday afternoon. The child was playing with the gun after getting it in his father’s bedroom.

Durham, S.C.-- A state trooper was shot four times by the driver of a vehicle he pulled over for not wearing seatbelt.

Tucson, Ariz.-- A man inside an apartment accidentally fired a gun and the bullet went through a wall and struck a woman in an neighboring apartment.

Chicago, Ill.-- A 15-year-old boy tried to bring an unloaded 25 caliber semi-automatic handgun to his high school in his book-bag.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-- An 18-year-old woman was injured when a bullet exploded inside her kitchen oven while she was preheating the appliance. Police determined that a 25-year-old friend had put a magazine clip to his .46-caliber Glock handgun in the oven.

Rockwall, Tex.-- A 33-year-old woman was shot and killed and a 40-year-old man was wounded in a shopping center parking lot. The alleged shooter is a police officer.

Bridge City, La.-- An 81-year-old grandmother was found shot dead on the kitchen. Police say she might not have been the intended target.

Detroit, Mich.-- A 28-year-old man shot and killed his 66-year-old grandmother and 48-year-old aunt, and wounded his 7-year-old daughter.

Memphis, Tenn.-- A man found in a crashed car had been shot to death.

Chicago, Ill.-- A 17-year-old male was fatally shot in the head and an 18-year-old male was wounded in the arm while sitting in a car.

Little Rock, Ark.-- A 37-year-old woman was found dead yesterday on the porch of a house from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was a nationally known country-music performer.

Fairdealing, Mo.-- A 23-year-old man shot and killed his ex's father and stabbed her mother and brother, then killed himself.

Council Bluffs, Iowa -- A 42-year-old man shot and killed his 38-year-old girlfriend at her home before fatally shooting himself. The woman had three children between the ages of 12 and 18.

Sunrise, Fla.-- Police found a man shot dead on a golf course.

Palm Coast, Fla.-- A 19-year-old man was shot during a birthday party.

DeKalb County, Ga.-- A woman in her 20s was found fatally shot, with her child nearby, in a driveway.

Baltimore, Md.-- Police found two men, ages 26 and 27, and a 27-year-old woman shot at a bus stop.

Houston, Tex.-- Two men pulled out guns and fired shots at each other during an argument at an apartment complex and one of the men was struck and killed.

Valley Center, Calif.-- A man shot and killed his wife and then used the gun to kill himself.

Forestville, Md.-- An 18-year-old high school student was fatally shot and a second person critically wounded at an apartment complex.

Caldwell, Idaho -- A 34-year-old man shot during an argument with his wife six days ago died.

Callaway, Fla.-- An 18-year-old woman was shot after a 3-year-old boy found a .38-caliber handgun between the mattresses of his parents' bed.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-- A 46-year-old man walking his dog with his wife was shot in the leg by a pick-up truck driver after the dog got off the leash.

Oak Creek, Wis.-- A 24-year-old man accidentally shot his 21-year-old girlfriend in the buttocks with a 9-millimeter handgun on Valentine’s Day.

Jacksonville, Fla.-- A woman was shot twice and a man shot once about during an argument over a parking space.

It is widely known that so-called "assault rifles" account for very few deaths. More people die from knives than rifles. Nearly all guns today are semi-automatic. Tying to inflame people's sensibilities by calling semi-automatic rifles "assault rifles" is disingenuous. Assault rifles are fully automatic and are essentially illegal in the US. 60% of gun deaths each year are suicides (and they are not using assault rifles). About half of all homicides victims are black and over 90% of these crimes are black-on-black. Based on the numbers, we would be better off concentrating our efforts on depression affecting those who commit suicide and parenting issues with young blacks. Funny how you never hear these statistics in the media.

Sounds like someone don't like hearing the deadly truth about guns in our country. Face facts, it's out of control.

Thank you Vet for these facts. Now I challenge the pro-gun lobby to publish the "good guys with guns" stats.

You are a freaking tard, for one, know the facts before you can tell anyone to face them, two, if you read through all the ramblings that were posted you have to question the validity of them for two reasons.(1) One was not a shooting at all, it was a kid bringing one to school and (2) there is no such thing as a 46 caliber glock magazine. Way to be a bandwagon jumper. The only thing that is out of control is the stupidity of Americans and the tolerance to let it breed.

Interesting, did anyone happen to notice on VET's post that only one city was listed more than once. As a matter of fact, three times. The poster child of gun control Chicago, IL. That alone speaks volumes.

Looks like SE Camden County has become a haven for libtards. Good. It'll be fun watching these folks being miserable. I'm going to Woodbine to renew my CCP this week just to piss them off.

His/Her posts are always about the same thing like they are ever going to change someones mind about the topic. On top of that, their facts are far from fact. Gun deaths etc, are just playing on peoples fear and that is my definition of a turd. Preying on those that aren't smart enough or well informed enough is turd behavior. Well let me give you the finger on behalf of those that can't.

So basically you're saying because he posts regularly opinions you don't agree with, he's a turd. Not a very grown up or constructive position. Let me guess, a Republican or Teapublican right?

You know how it works. Someone makes a rational statement which I don't like but I can't refute it with facts. OK, now I haul out my big argument, "You're a turd---I really big turdy turd." Don't you remember how it was back on the playground?

Ok clown, i did say that I could refute with facts. Just because I don't agree with what they are saying is not what makes them a turd. Its is putting out information that is neither true or even close to it. Scaring people with lies is what makes them a turd. Now you may grow up.

Its sad, there are soo many other deaths that happen but this type is the only ones that make the news bacause its the popular thing. How about children that are killed by abusive parents or killed by drunk drivers but where are the pickets for those or the outcry for them? Get off the bandwagon, tool
