Uraling to the Summit of Mount Evans, Summer 2012
#1 Aug 6, 2012
I am SSRIOUSLY thinking about buying Ural.
What should I look out for?
What are the good points/ bad points to this motorcycle? What is parts availability/expense like? I have been riding/restoring motorcycles for over 40 years,, so I'm not a novice, owned more than 50 motorcycles, but never owned a side hack. I want something I can ride coast to coast in without being stranded waiting for a repair part to come from Russia...which is my greatest concern. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have had my '05 Troyka for 4 yrs. Had it set up & tuned plus FOUR tires in Santa Clara, Ca @ Tri-Quest Ural. It's been great since w 13k kilometers. I'm not hard on it just enjoying the putt around as I have others to ride more agressevily. Rode it 550 miles to the BMW national last July in Salem, Or. fm Fernley, Nv. 1 day each way @ 55ish mph w/o windshield. Back roads each way & thoroughly enjoyed it! If you're still thinking about it they are FUN. I've had over 50 bikes as well.
