This is so ridiculous, my dad is not here to defend himself. Leave him alone. No one wiil ever do what my dad did for this town. It is only a handful of you ignorant people that hated him.
As far as for Deon, he is nothing but a snake. He used my family's emotions when my dad died to slither his way into the funeral home along with his sidekick. All I know is that the people of Port Barre need to think really hard when voting that day. Think about your town, your safety, your children. Do you really want a chief that is going to work 9-5 behind a desk pushing papers? Do you really want a chief that is going to do away with the elderly program and all the other programs that are in place at this time? He won't know what is police officers are doing. All he is worried about is getting his little buddy on the force with him and ruining the town. You just remember something, that seat you might sit in and that desk you might sit behind, and the building itself is my dad's. You will never do what he did for this town. NEVER! For the people of Port Barre, God Bless Us All, if he gets into office.

if the town of port barre would have thought before we voted your dad would have never been in office that was the problem no one was thinking about the "your town, your safety, your children"
" Do you really want a chief that is going to work 9-5 behind a desk pushing papers?" oh no what we wanted was a drug head who got him self killed by taking too much drugs and then trying to go on a chase after the chase was almost over

Mrs. Estis, these small handful of fools responding here have no moral values. The foolish and childing posts need to stop. It is a shame to post ill and vulgar words about a person whom has past on. Every one has good and bad faults. That comes with being human.
Some of the same ones on here were friendly to your dad's face and spoke bad when he wasn't around. They are talking about someone that they really didn't know. They seen the bad and not the good. I knew him well enough to know he loved his family.
You are a sweet and intelligent lady. You too or posting ill of someone you don't know. Don't put yourself on the same level as those fools responding. They want you to respond. They want you to put your misery on this forum. To entertain a fool is to be one and you are no fool. Don't entertain the 4 or 5 children on here. Be proud of who you are. Stand strong and keep faith in God.

Knew you would stoop to that level. Deon was a good friend of mine growing up. When we got older and grew apart I experimented with drugs and he busted me. I hated him at the time because I thought he was betraying me, but, in sober hindsight... that is the kind of man I want in office. One who will not let personal relationships interfere with his job. Sorry, Lainey, I know you love you father and I respect that and am not here to bash him, but he did a number of things to make people no respect him. He undeservedly beat people up, he chased the innocent at times and now these victims see the hypocrisy. Deon showed his true colors by the way he handled his ex-wife's infidelity. Like a true man of virtue he bowed out gracefully after losing his long struggle with an emotionally dysfunctional woman that just lost her mother at the hands of her father. Deon is a good human being. How dare you call him a snake for attending your fathers funeral.

L Estis you are extremly correct and entitled.

Concerned...you talk about his wife's infidelity didnt he and some of the(married) others use to chase all the little girls that worked at McDonalds, well that's morality and true colors for you I guess. As for qualified personnel for chief, personaly there isnt any and people are forced to go with the lesser evils. How do you qualify someone to run a town, because they give the local drunks 40's to snitch..come on.

Richard was a good man and friend, he will be missed. I mean that, just wait till after the election and all the true colors will come out.

I have never heard of giving local drunks 40's to snitch, but since you know so much I guess that is what you believe. So, Do you think a 19 year old is a little girl? If so then I guess you can say that he was chasing a certain LITTLE GIRL. Just for your knowledge, his wife was 19 when they started dating,at this time she did work at McDonald's as a Manager and to this day they are happily married with 2 children. I happen to be a close friend to Deon and I do support him running for chief. He is what the town needs. If you don't like what he will do then vote him out when his 4 years is up. I assure you your thoughts will have changed by then.

How do you know what Deon is going to do if he wins the election? Maybe nobody will amount to what your dad did, but who's to say they can't try. The desk, chair and police dept belong to the town of Port Barre, your dad was not the only chief of this town. I am not going to talk bad about your dad because he can't defend himself and your family should not have to put up with the remarks of some, but I can't agree with you coming on here and talking about someone you know nothing about. Grieve for your dad and let the people that are running for chief run for chief. Who knows how many people will run for chief, We just have to wait until December and find out.

OK...it takes 2 to make it and 2 to break it...I just didnt like the way "concerned was running his wife down", thats all I am getting at. Deon could be a good chief, YTBD? Yes I do think 19 is a little girl why how old are you? About the 40's for snitches, remember it isnt black or white look in the shades of grey. I would personaly vote for Deon, his personal life has nothing to do with his abilities.
