But the police said that there was no co-operation with the Diocese of Laf. Seems like the ranks have closed. And you better keep your mind open to the fact that F. Nicki may not be back, or moved in a year or two....

I, too, am glad to see Father Nicki has been cleared and I am also extremely appalled that David Richard is being so openly negative and disrespectful to the Diocese. He is just trying to find a way to cover his ass because he messed up and arrested first, and asked questions later!!!!

Congratulations Father Nicki! I knew you were innocent from the start!!!

Just like the rest of the people in town who automatically jump to conclusions, the reporter assumed he was a member of the Catholic Church in town. David Richard was raised Catholic and comes from a very strong family of Catholics. His mother and father attend Queen of Angels Church in Opelousas and know Father Nicky very well. His fathers words to David were "If he's guilty, he's guilty and I am not saying this because you are my son and had to make this arrest. David's wife is Baptist and they raised their children in the Baptist Church. Throughout their 33 or so years of marriage, he attended church with them and also the Catholic church. Over the past few years he has visited all churches in this area (Sacred Heart, St. Mary, First Baptist, Port Barre, Bro. Bobby Gradney, etc., etc., etc.) He is not a memeber of First Baptist Church, Opelousas. You are misinformed. Now that you know everything you need to know about him and the church, you need to understand one more thing. David and Father Nicky have been good friends for many years. These past few weeks have been very trying for him and his entire family. Did he want this to happen? No, No, No. Only he, Father Nicky, and the Good Lord know the entire truth.

Sorry to interrupt here, I know this has nothing to do with the subject, but it's always bothered me the way the Catholic Church refers to "Sacred Heart", "Precious Blood", etc. Why not "Immaculate Gallbladder", "Pristine Pancreas", or "Holy Halitosis"?

It had to be a very trying time for all concerned. Undoubtedly, everyone would like this all to go away. And in time, the emotions will calm. However, the question will still reamin as to why the Diocese of Laf. was unco-operative. And after awhile, Father Nicky may leave either from being "observed", or a guilty conscience. Of course he may just keep going on. But somehow, something has gone wrong.
