The boys were always scheduled to play on Friday, so that can't be an excuse. The comment towards the Schoff's had to do with the entire Schoff family showing up to support little Phil, coaching for Canjo, but can't show up to support the kids of their OWN community.
@Ralph...It seems to me that teachers, administrators, and board members should lead us with a little bit of school spirit. Ralph, you are a little bit confused. I do not hate this community. I hate the empathy in this community. I hate the lack of involvement in this community. I hate all of the excuses in this community. I all the b@tching in this community and nobody stands up to do anything about it.
@NYER...isn't that the pot calling the kettle black...
@Fire Brundage...let's not support the kids because we don't like the coach...better yet, let's all take our kids to Little Falls for the same reason...get a life.
. Why do you hate the way that this community cares about others (empathy)? LMAO

Maybe the most important part of the coach's job is not winning, but helping to build better adults. It would be nice to win,but if the talent isn't there...

I'm unrealistic??? Ask a teacher how many games they attended this year. It's pretty sh!tty when a teacher can't support the kids, or their own co-workers (coaches). Stop making excuses when the school has 100's of home games per year, across all levels, and teachers don't attend a single game...or a band event, school play, honor society (oh that was funny when the honor society teacher panel was not even in attendance for the induction ceremony.) It's not unrealistic to ask a teacher, or administrator to attend one game of a tournament for a very beloved, and honored member of this community...a man WHO WAS A TEACHER!!!

You want to hear me bitch, I'll bitch. But when my complaints start hitting close to home, you will only make excuses instead of changing your ways.

Why do I care about the Schoff's??? Don sits at the Locker room with Ed Smith and Bob Failing and put down this community, our varsity team, and our coach, but then show up at our gym, to support another team. And everyone in this town is ok with getting sh!t on. They pull their kids from our school because our school isn't good enough for them, but then want to use our gym for their AAU games, and then put an article in the paper when they can't use it.

You're pointing the finger in the wrong direction on that one. If there is a town function, turn around and you'll see me there 80% of the time. I am not perfect and don't make them all, but I do my best to be active in this community. I support this community in all manners. I have been to bingo night at the Legion. I eat spaghetti at the benefit club, and attend just about every fundraiser at the Masonic Temple. I spend every night at the fair, and eat lunch there all week. I still go to band concerts and sporting events, even though my kids are grown up. I buy just about every fundraiser that is put before me. I'm actually thinking about re-entering the fire department at my age, which some people would find too funny. Instead of making up all of your excuses, go to a sporting event, and cheer for our kids. Go to the fair and buy some fried dough. Go to a board meeting and tell the board thanks for volunteering so much time. Don't just sit at the Locker room or Stewart's and complain.

My biggest complaint is that in my lifetime, in this community, I have not done enough. I haven't shopped at the stores enough. I haven't tipped enough. I haven't helped those in need enough. So for that, I recognize I must try harder. But I can't do it alone. Instead of making up all of your excuses, go to a sporting event, and cheer for our kids. Go to the fair and buy some fried dough. Go to a board meeting and tell the board thanks for volunteering so much time. Don't just sit at the Locker room or Stewart's and complain.

You are way off base if you are comparing the Schoff who hangs out at the Locker Room with Phil, just because they're brothers. If you have a problem with the Locker Room gang, I'm glad you at least admitted that. As for the things you speak of, I attend and support them all, but I don't feel the need to expect others too, as I am realistic as to people having other commitments in their lives! The people who attend games do so to support their kids, not because of the name associated with the Tourney... As someone pointed out earlier, Cutspec's family doesn't even make a point to attend. People are spread so thin that they do their best just to attend events for their own kids. It doesn't mean that they don't remember Bill Cutspec fondly. It's High School Basketball- those who care, care & those who don't, don't. Simple as that,

Good explanations Webster, if you would have just said all that in the beginning, everyone would have looked at it different. Back in the day, Don was great with Biddy and Little League. If he's cranky now, so be it. People change for different reasons, who cares, move on and do our best to take their place. Back when this one or that one stepped up and did stuff for good, someone was bashing those that moved on for different things. Difference is that now, we can go on here and talk trash. If someone took their kid somewhere else to be some super star, who cares, we know it made no difference and they are to embarrassed to eat crow and bring them back. Doesn't make us look bad, we raised our kids in our community and are proud of it and they turned out just as good as the superstars. Best part is, our neighbors are not talking trash about us to our face or behind our backs, like happens to all them, whether they believe it or not. Let the club gossip, it keeps them busy, the rest of us will take their place and make the community better. Every place has good and bad. I don't think of them as whiners, I remember when they did good for the kids and maybe they deserve to vent for all the parent crap they put up with through the years. I'm sure I was a pain at some point to some of them and they kept with it.

What 50 kids left just because of those 2 mentioned? Be serious, it was, look how much better we are in the big bad LF school and ended up with nothing more. Sounds like someone sat the bench even though they were amazing at youth center ball.

Great how parents and kids complain about coach, and getting playing time, yet they constantly skip practice. They think just coming to games they should play! I wish we had 7 kids who really want to play instead of 3 or 4. And the others bitching and don't put a effort in.

Boys won another game, this time with a come from behind win over rival Fort Plain. Fort Plain always does it right, with a standing room only crowd in a much bigger gym than St. J. It was good to see all of the St. Johnsville fans in attendance, and was good to see Don Schoff and Bob Sitterly sitting behind the St. Johnsville bench, cheering on Coach Brundage and his squad.

Webstar I don't think they were cheering for ST J those guys are not loyal graduates. And I don't think either like Brudage. They like winners however, why would anybody think they are experts on the game. Because they were the most criticizes Refs for years?

Were Schoff and Sitterly cheering Brundage in St J vs Fort Plain? How about coach Phillips was he their for the game? That's right he chooses not to come to that game. So was assistant coach Springer & Snell the trusted advisors? Maybe Dan Hart will take over for Brundage next year because obviously Brundage can't win a big game especially not at home.

They would have won the "big game" if he would have taken out the kid who was 1-22 and put in someone else. All he does is play his little boys. He wonders why they lose games. For Christ sake he had the biggest guy on the team sitting the bench for the whole fourth quarter. Now you tell me why they lost?
