Well now that the merge is final, lets finish it and do the right thing. This was suppose to be about cutting cost, it is time to shut atleast one door. The only way this merge will save the tax payers, is to consolidate. St J has enough room in their schools for about 1500 kids. It makes NO sinse to keep all 3 buildings open. If this merge is truely about saving and providing education then NOW IS THE TIME TO START, not 3 years from now not 10 years from now, BUT at the opening of the next school year! THE TIME TO SAVE and cut cost is upon us, so now that the vote is thru lets see who will be the bad guy and bring the actual TRUTH to a board meeting??????????

I'm sorry but it would be idiotic to put all the kids in st j when it is clear that oppenheim's building is in much much better shape. The highscool is about to fall in in st j. Whether it be the elementary or the highschool, Oppenheim's building needs to be used. The money has already been spent to update their building.

Frasier, stop stiring the pot. Its over! Either move away or shut up. No one wants any of the schools to close. You just want to get people to enroll their kids in other districts to screw over the yes voters. You have told people so. Come on!

@ Jim Richards; Fine, if St J's school/ is falling apart(which OE was told it was in perfectly fine shape, hmmmm), Then shut them down and use the OE school, there would still be enough room for all the students. Either way this merge is suppose to cut cost, how is this happening when we are keeping all the same buildings open, leveling up(pay raise) teachers, paying lawyer fees, adding more bus travel etc.... The merge is done, now prove to the the communities that this merge has benifits and will cut down on waste, don't just fling a bunch of red tape and BS around.

@ No brain and Yep poodle; why don't you grow up and figure out what has really happened. The merge is final, now it's time to step up to the plate and CUT COST so there is some sort of future. Your name calling and pointing fingers is just plain retarded, I am NOT a fraiser. I will not shut up, you won be happy and put your money where your mouth is. I have brought up a perfectly good point that needs to be addressed. In order to have a promissing future NOW is the time to act. There is NO NEED to suger coat the BS merger study, it is over, now it's time to make a difference and cut cost. Lets not drag out the OE dissolve, lets finish what was started and make things work for a future. Dragging this out is only going to waste MILLIONS of $$$$$ that could very easily go to something much more important.

Oh and one last final note to you two nimrods, as long as I am a property owner and tax payer I will voice my opinion, so suck it up CUP CAKES!!!!!!!!!!

ST j does not have enough room for 1500 kids in the 2 schools," another fact that is not a fact," over the merger subject.

We need all three school buildings, The saints were looking into addng a gym at the elm school, they need a lunch room for junior high. keeping all three schools work. Cutting costs will happen. the schools only need one super, one AD some teachers need to go and some may teach classes at two locations. I think special needs classes should be put togeter and teachers there can be cut.
We can use the millions offered om the state to help make our school a great schol and a place peole want to enroll their children.

I will not lie I was a no voter, I think it's disgusting what this whole thing has done to the community. But what's done is done and its time to make this work, and it can work if its done correctly. I just hope the people in charge use their heads. I don't know if I fully understand why all three schools have to remain open I mean can all the students fit in two schools or even one?? I personally don't know but if they could wouldn't it make sense to do it??

To Willis, all the kids could fit in one school, it would be packed, but keeping elementary kids away from issues as bus runs, influence from older children is the right way. Why not see how cutting administrated cost, less high school teachers , etc works out. I just hope that qualified people are elected to new board.

Why in a small communtiy are you worried about the older kids being in the same school as the younger? They (older) should learn to be a good influence on the younger kids.

All the kids can easily fit into one school, it is ridiculous to keep all 3 doors open. It is also ridiculous to be trucking children all over the country side when they belong to the same school. Please folks this has nothing to do with the vote it is about running a business and being a success. Wasting money is not the way to start a new business venture

I think they will win if its their own culted home school. They can take field trips to the police station. They can do overtime yard work on the weekends and pretend to clean and fix stuff. who wants to send the kids to the Frasier Farm School of Brainwashing?

Where do you get 1500 kids from. There's not 1500 kids.

Here's how I see it. Parents of the youngest students (elementary) are going to be the most concerned about their children being sent to school outside their "home" town, so in the beginning, as everyone adjusts to the whole merger idea, both elementary schools will probably remain open. Maybe that will change over time, but that is yet to be seen. Then the Middle School can be in Oppenheim, and High School in STJ, as that makes the most sense. I'm not sure how long the District will actually want to keep 3 buildings open, though... In that case, I think it would have to be the DH Robbins Elementary in STJ closing... Maybe K-6 in Oppenheim and 7-12 in STJ even. Should be interesting to see what they come up with. What have you heard?

I agree with sign man I hope the right people are elected to run the school. And this whole damn the no voters and damn the yes voters has to stop. Not to sound cliche but we have to work together to get through this and with the poor attitudes and out looks I've seen throughout this whole ordeal neither school would have made it on their own or combined. So fingers crossed we can all gt along long enough to put our heads together and make something work

Th truth is you should have a frasier on the board there about education of children. The oppenhiem school was run properly and was efficient when Cy Frasier was board president
