It is looking good that Mr Glen Blanchard is getting his way. Oppenheim will be split. The children will be going to either Dolgeville or Johnstown. Glen was determined to continue to work with Herkimer County BOCES. Saying that I'm guessing if you live in Lassesville you are heading to Johnstown, if you live West of there, off to Dolgeville. What will this mean for our taxes?? We will have to pay the additional cost to send our children, as these schools need to increase their teachers. Also, if you are working in OECS currently, I'm thinking it would be wise to start looking for another job. Chris Fatta has already done so. If I were him, I would be second guessing St J. Together the school could have been wonderful, but alone not so much. St Johnsville, will most likely be torn apart as well. Ft Plain and Little Falls will be waiting to take them over for sure. My suggestion, SELL and get out of the area while you can. So many big fishes, in such a very small pond!

@oppenheim resident, Why don't you check out a documentary called "Waiting For Superman". If you really want to see the true waste and BS that is handed out every day then take a look. Attacking board memebers and each other is exactly what the teachers union wants, that way the pressure is off of them. Maybe you should be aiming your enegry were it could do some good instead of wasting it into mid air?

PS. If you fall into the % of worthless teachers then I'll understand your negative responces. If you are part of the tiny % of good teachers then I hope you'll try to make a difference?

Oh, wait... because he's recently discovered "Waiting For Superman" he knows all there is to know about education. What a freakin' clown. His motto must be "Everything I ever learned about life I learned from a slanted documentary made by a nut case." LMAO

@mickey, do you EVER try to post information or do you just run off at the mouth on everything? I have yet to see ONE of your post supply any type of information. I post all types of different info and places were it can be found, yet all you can post are lame insults and dribble, WHY? Why is it that you're so upset with my post, is it because they hold much truth?

If you watch the documentary then you quickly understand it was done by teachers that give a S**t. It shows a very serious issue and why things are the way they are. The only ones that would not support documentary are those that are lazy useless greedy and just plain don't give a damn. Before you keep going with your lame post try watching, you may be surprised, well that's if your IQ is high enough to understand??

GLEN BLANCHARD HAPPEN TO BE A GOOD PERSON. HE SHOULD BE COMMENDED FOR HIS SCHOOL BOARD ACTIONS. THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED DOWN THE MERGER AND WHO ASSUME THEY WOULD HAVE LOST THEIR IDENITY FOE O-E SCHOOLS NAME SHOULD GET READY TO GO AND GET THEIR REAL I.D. CARD FOR WHEN THEY GET THEIR NEXT SCHOOL TAX BILL AND FIND OUT WHAT A REAL TAX BILL WILL BE LIKE. THEY CAN NOW USE THEIR I.D. CARDS TO GET FOOD STAMPS AND VARIOUS OTHER FREEBES FROM THE COUNTY. ROGER WILL AGAIN GET LAID OFF AND COLLECT HIS FUNNY MONEY CHECK AND GET FREE WINDOWS.

How come I know of at least 10 parents are going to send their children to ST J. You dreamers up in OE think DCS wants your kids, they voted you out 5 years ago. Johnstown is 12 miles to OE. ST J is less than 5 miles I think 7 minutes to ST J is better than 25 minutes to Johnstown,

The yes voters supported the education of children. They had no secret agenda's, weren't trying to convince people to vote without facts, or with only half truths. The no voters lied, every handbill had different information on it, all of it misleading, with no contact people on to identify where the info came from and they scared the elderely by telling them their taxes would double. The even went so low as to make people believe that they were going to save the band by voting no. Really the band would have been bigger and better. The educational opportunities would have been improved. Maybe a few teachers would have been paid more but what they heck... you get what you pay for. Maybe then a few of them would finally retire. Now the no voters can gleefully tell everyone that the yes voters are sore losers as we slowly dismantle OE. By the way the 9-12 can only be tuitioned out by a vote of the people. I'm not willing to lose control over the school. Once you tuition them out there is no band and you have no say over policies. No local control over your highschool. At least with a merger we could have voted our people on the new board. Even better...since we had so many voters over 850. We could have a majority on a new board. We could have controlled it. Foolish NO voters, stubborn, blind, ignorant people. Please get your head out of the sand. we have only one more chance if we revote or BYE BYE OE.

Bull crap, the main reason for the push on a yes vote was for faculty pay raise and hide the obvious educational problems.

The no voters lied, every handbill had different information on it, all of it misleading, with no contact people on to identify where the info came from and they scared the elderely by telling them their taxes would double. The even went so low as to make people believe that they were going to save the band by voting no. Really the band would have been bigger and better.

This is FLAT OUT FALSE every bit of info that was passed out could easily be looked up and a lot of it was in the merger study pages. Not one piece of "NO" info handed out had anything to do with scare tactics about taxes{or anything else for that matter}. It was ALL based on the merger study and was set at the lowest possible tax hike. On the other hand, what was up with the bull crap "YES" vote hand out that said taxes would go up anywhere from 19% to 39%? I never heard a nor saw any info threatening the band either. Your comments above are nothing but lies, why do you feel the need to rehash old news? Are you afraid that people found out the truth about how the education system is being missrun? Are you afraid{if you're part of the faculty} that you may actually have to start doing the job you're paid to do?

Can't afford to keep the schools operating, but hey, lets dish out a 17+% pay raise for teachers. What a load of garbage.

Maybe then a few of them would finally retire. Now the no voters can gleefully tell everyone that the yes voters are sore losers as we slowly dismantle OE.

So you admit you'd rather trash the school instead of set a new example and help the education system,... BRILLIANT.

By the way the 9-12 can only be tuitioned out by a vote of the people. I'm not willing to lose control over the school. Once you tuition them out there is no band and you have no say over policies. If the people vote for "tuition out" then I quess that would be the peoples choice NOT YOURS. You also have no clue what this means otherwise you'd know we would not lose control of our school.

Even better...since we had so many voters over 850. We could have a majority on a new board. We could have controlled it. Foolish NO voters, stubborn, blind, ignorant people. Please get your head out of the sand.

There is NO CHANCE in h377 that any OE district member would have a say. Take a look at a map and see who has the bigger population. Then take a look at congestion and figure who would show up for voting. Lets not forget how well StJ played their hand in threats and mobs showing up at OE.

You are a sad little person that truely does not care about the education for children or the communties that are affected by this bureaucratic garbage. I sincerely hope you can pull you head out of it's ignorant dark place and try to learn what is happening in the world around you.

Whoever you are keep sprouting your lies and half truths. The Problem is that you appear to be jealous of everything that has the word teacher in it. What are you a wanna be? Then go get the education, put in the time, go in debt for the education. I'll just set back on my retired behind, send my grandchildren to Johnstown. Yes I can afford tuition but no one will be going to Dolgeville from my family. I care about education more than you know. That's why I supported the merger. I'll work towards keeping the school open but I'll not support the dismantling of it.
