The North American Union NAFTA Super-Highway, which is taking form first through the Trans-Texas Corridor, is a massive land-grab, with plans to seize over 1 million acres in Texas alone through eminent domain. This has candidates like Texas Democrats Hank Gilbert (ran for Commissioner of Agriculture and lost) and David Van Os (ran for Attorney General in Texas and lost) up in arms and discussing the possibility of an armed populist revolution in response to the North American Unionís sovereignty-seizing actions.

It is very hard to get people to believe this is really being done. A lot of people think if they dont see it in the news it isnt true. We just have to keep trying to make everyone look at the facts

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is overseeing the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) as the first leg of the NAFTA Super Highway. A 4,000-page environmental impact statement has already been completed and public hearings are scheduled for five weeks, beginning next month, in July 2006. The billions involved will be provided by a foreign company, Cintra Concessions de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A. of Spain. As a consequence, the TTC will be privately operated, leased to the Cintra consortium to be operated as a toll-road.
