THE PBA SCAM is not affiliated with any police department. It is just that - a scam being run by crooks.

Suffolk confines their donations to collecting money for their favorite political candidates. They may have even resorted to ripping down Catterson for DA posters in the 2001 election.

On another note concerning the LIE. If the patrols are lifted by Suffolk County of the LIE, and a death resulting from an accident should occur, will Tom Spota seek to indict CE Levy for recklessly abandoning his duties to protect the public by leaving the roadways bare? Will Spota assume the same logic as he did when he arrested the 10 nurses and lawyer for leaving Avalon, and conclude their resignations left their patients in grave peril?

Will Spota consider indicting the Superintendant of the NYSP, or the governor if the cops aren't replaced by State Troopers?

Will Tom Spota order his SCPD detectives, of which he has many assigned to his office to put on their uniforms and protect the public against reckless drivers.

Will the cars that are seized be used by his detectives as vehicles to assume their investigations when they go back to investigations? Will they only seize Mercedes Benz, Audi's or Lexus type vehicles?

Will DA Investigator Walter Warkenthien be rewarded with the cream of the crop of vehicles seized by the DA? Will he one day drive it into the "Chinese Wall' that Spota erected to give a fair and impartial review of the Tankleff 440 motion.

Will Len Lato be seen in a BMW convertible, with his long hair flowing in the wind now that the summer season is approaching?

Will Jimmy Burke be chauffered in a stretch Limo as Captain Burke was in the TV series? Who will drive Burke- Tom Spota?

But I did hear of one then police sergeant of the 4th precinct that solicited a $1,000.00 'contribution' for the annual precinct golf outing from a local bar owner that received numerous complaints from citizens making noise complaints.

When will the taxpayers of Suffolk wake up to the fact that their Police Dept. is not going to be able to provide even the most basic patrol service in the not too distant future.
The County Exec. has been slowly but surely taking the department to the lowest staffing levels ever by the use of "Civilianization". However, he has not put these cops on the street, they have simply retired. Many more retire every January and July. Hundreds have left the department and Levy has not filled their positions.... This sounds like a great thing because it saves money. What the Public doesn't realize is that those police officers that have been paid for in the county Budget for to patrol your neighborhoods have retired and not been replaced...
Levy has used that "Police budget" money to fund his abysmal mismanagement of the county's fiscal crisis. There is NO proactive Policing in your neighborhoods. The protection of the quality of life we used to enjoy in this county is gone .
All these wonderful Ideas Mr. Spota has put forth are truly sound plans to bring back a good community where we can feel safe in our homes and our streets. The one thing lacking, and I'm shocked the Legislature, save for maybe Mr. Losqadro, hasn't called the Police Commissioner on this, is How do they intend to implement increased enforcement by Police when there are currently not enough police to provide a basic protection....

I'm sure if you donate $1000 to his re election fund he'd be more than happy to furnish a couple detectives at your next family gathering to arrest him and obtain an indictment.

Off topic, but why does the LIE need to have roadwork done EVERY GOD DAMN year in the same area ?

I can not stand the signs on the LIE saying "10pm-6am Eastbound exits 52-58 closed for roadwork"

and then at 930, the road is closed !!!!!
